I don't use my psp often, I only pull it our every few weeks (or even months) to play.
But the last few times I did, I found that the memory card has been wiped clean, It loses all my info. It's Really frustrating when I want to beat a game, then poof, I have to start all over again.

Had anyone else had a similar problem? Is it a problem with my PSP or just the memory card?

Do you have any sibilings that would mess around with it? I've never had that problem before...
Most likely this. Mine do it to me. Really sucks.

I've never had this happen, but I would check to make sure the card you are using is the right kind for the system, not sure if you could even save anything if it wasn't, but I think sony's website has a list of supported cards.

More likely I would say maybe you didn't format the card with your PSP before using it, I forget the exact process but It should be easy enough to figure out, the PSP manual, or search the web for a help page.

Hope that helps.

No siblings. Thankfully they are all older and moved out.

I am pretty sure the card is supported, it is a: Sony Memory Stick Pro. It even says "magic gate" like on their other systems.
What gets me is that the memory will be fine and saved for a month or two, then it suddenly gets wiped. My PSP even acts like it's new and I have to reset the time and day. My guess is that it's the PSP as well...
Damn, now I have to go digging for my receipt and warranty info...

As far as having to reset the time and date goes, I think all PSPs do that when they've been idle long enough, mine does anyway, but I've still never lost any saves.

I would suggest, however, backing up your saves on your PC. A bit of a hassle, but if you can't find a fix for the memory loss....

You can put your saves on the PC? How do I go about doing that?

Thanks for the info BTW. I plan to finally get and play a few games on the PSP, so having it work is kinda useful.

Apparently fake Sony memory cards never work, they always corrupt data.

You connect the PSP to your PC with the USB cable that came with it and select USB connect mode on the far left list on PSP. It pretty much makes the PSP act like an external drive so you can transfer files.

This has never happened to me, can you elaborate please?

That made me a little worried, I don't wanna lose all my progress.

My friend bought a memory card from eBay, and it looked like it was saving games, but whenever he turned it off, went to reload the UMD, it always said "save file corrupted." I did a Google search for him, and "they" say it's a fake.
