My friend is trying to upgrade his computer, but I dont really know how to help him, anyway, one of the things that he wanted to upgrade was the graphics card, He has one picked out, but he dosnt know if it would be compatible with his CPU, so does anyone know if a BFG BFGEGTX260MC896OCDE GeForce GTX 260 Overclocked MAXCORE Video Card - 896MB GDDR3, PCIe 2.0 x16, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, Dual VGA Support card would work with a intel Pentium D cpu 2.80 ghz? Any help would be appreciated, or if you cannot help, then if anyone could tell me a site where I could ask.

You generally shouldn't have to worry about incompatibilities with the CPU. I have had more problems in the past with incompatibilities with mother boards than with CPUs. I'd say go for it.

You really gotta worry about weather the GPU will be compatible with the motherboard. Considering he/she/it has a 2.8 ghz processor, im guessing it will have the required PCIe slot.
Also another thing to remember is to check if his PSU will have enough power to supply the video card
