I would suggest the pirate bay but that would be illegal...

If youre playing in an airport then you cant have any game that requires a lot of "mousing" the classic worms? Worms Armgeddon/world party

I would suggest getting an emulator and ROMs off an emulation forum, which I'm pretty sure is perfectly legal if you own now or have owned the games in the past (also, legal emulation forums have rules that they can only have games from past 6 years ago or something).

I play Playstation and N64 games on my computer all the time.

Go to http://jayisgames.com/ for casual games that won't take up much memory.

Or you could just get a SNES emulator and then pop over to Pirate Bay and download every SNES game ever.

Cave Story or Trackmania Nations (Offline obviously).

Both easy to pick up and play. Fist one's a platformer (and a damn good one), second one's a racing game (of the start-crash-restart constantly variety).

Spelunky is free and offline, i think it got featured around here a while back, it's very good, doesn't get old.

Google it or something.

Karoshi 2.0 burns up a couple of highly-amused hours.
Iji is amazing.
Glitch is compelling fun.
Peggle Extreme, enough said.
The Suffering is actually available, legally, for free online; it has a couple of adverts in it but they don't interrupt the game particularly, iirc.
Yahtzee's adventure games.
Etc.

There are loads of good freeware games out there; just google and enjoy :)

I agree with this, but make sure they're legal first. I use an emulator myself to play old games and it's great. Otherwise, I heartily recommend the Chzo Mythos games from our very own Yahtzee, found on his site, http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/. Very good games if you're into point-and-click adventures, and completely free (though for a small donation you can also get the Special Edition copies with several extras). Whatever you choose, enjoy! :)

How would you get arrested for shooters? What are you in Nazi/Merkel's Deutschland?
Close...the United States and the crazy TSA agents.
TSA? Not familiar with them. But uh... I wasn;t aware shooters were illegal in the states...
TSA is the Travel Safety Administration. Shooters aren't illegal here in the U.S., but since 9/11, paranoia is on the up and up here in the U.S., especially in airports. You kind of have to watch what you do when you're in an American airport, because people are actually looking too hard for potential terrorists, and they're over-reactionary to the point that I would not be surprised at all to find someone at least pulled aside for questioning because they were playing a shooter in an airport. Best to play it safe.

I heard somewhere that the second of the Elder Scrolls games, Daggerfall, became free to download and as many of us will know. It's a excellent game.

Now let me just find the link, ah where did I put that.... ah here we go: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/downloads_games.htm

No worries, it's legal although the DOSBox emulator is required for this to work if your computer is new.

Especially if you played the Dead Air campaign from L4D. Some of the zombies are TSA agents. I can see why they might frown on/taser you for that.

I wanted to say that you should be safe as long as you keep your headphones on, but then I decided I'd hate to pick up the newspaper and read a story about a guy that got arrested because he was playing a shooting game on his laptop in the airport and the lady next to him freaked out.

On topic, Yahoo and MSN have some decent games you can download. I think they're all free, or at least a decent free trial.
