Hi all, I'll get right to it, 3rd year uni student here, one of my current projects is preparing a pitch and portfolio including a hypothetical budget for an equally hypothetical TV show to pitch, I've been tasked with finding out about insurance, but I'm struggling, I don't suppose any of you here would happen to know the various types of insurance one would need for an on-location shoot, and how I could find a reasonable estimate of how much we would need to pay? I've been googling for hours and can't find anything consistent

any help would be much appreciated (seriously, you don't even know)

Gonna depend where you're filming. Why don't you ask your professor how to find out? What about film clubs? Presumably someone in your university has done this before.

Have you tried contacting an insurance broker with what you intend to film and just asking them for what you'd need and a quote?

"Hi, this is X, I'm doing a cost estimate for a film we're considering producing. We've not done one before and I'd like to know what insurances we'd need and a general idea of the costs."

See if they'll talk to you.

Don't work in the film industry, but the most obvious one I can think of is public liability insurance, or whatever your analogue to that is. You probably also need some form of workers compensation / employers liability.
