What do you think about rap?
I enjoy
Black Star, Mos Def, Big Daddy Kane, Sage Francis, Slug, Digable Planets, Gang Starr, The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, Rakim, and of course, Tupac.

Hi People!

I have been looking for some really good music to listen to. Mainstream or Indie, doesn't matter to me. I'm a rock fan normally, but will try anything once. Foo Fighters and Linkin Park are two of my favorites atm, but I listen to pretty much everything (yes, even some country thanks to my girlfriend). I really don't know ANY good DJ's b/c I've been out of the scene for a while, but I love to shake it on the dance floor.

Any help would be appreciated! Just list the band or song and I'll check them out.

Thanks!

Linkin park eh? then you might enjoy stuff like alien ant farm (their cover of smooth criminal from antology was pretty good) and papa roach (the infest album is the only one i`ve got so `d start there)

oh and try kyuss (asteroid from the welcome to sky valley ,and the rest of that album is awesome)

If you're into rock I'd recommend:

Breaking Benjamin
Theory of a Dead Man
Red - Try: Mystery of You and Shadows :D
Skillet
Alter Bridge
Breaking Point
Machinae Supremacy
Metallica - Especially the old school stuff
Story of the Year - The Antidote and Wake Up among others
Three Days Grace - Animal I have Become for starters
Sonic Syndicate - The newer stuff is less heavy, the original was Death Metal
In Flames - Just because I love them XD

Hope you enjoy! :D

Rise Against- Melodic punk that gets more interesting the more you listen, not less.
The Killers- Cause i assume that your not into heavy stuff with a few of your last posts, this is a good band.
Muse- I dunno, you might find something that hits ya fancy with their massive range of song styles.
Pendulum- Bass/drums powerhouse.

Really, thats all i can give ya based on what ya prefer. I got major emphasis on Rise Against though.

Thanks peeps! Great stuff so far! Keep it coming! As a note, not a big deathmetal fan. Metallica is about as hard as I go, but I love those guys. :) Thanks for all the great advice so far
Try megadeth and anthrax then i`d recommend killing is my buisness....and buisness is good! for megadeth and among the living for anthrax

Three words, sir.
Three.
Dog.
Night.

Might be a little old, but I have never heard a song by them I didn't like. And I'm a System and 'Talica kid mostly. On the other hand, I listen to everything from Bach to Weird Al, so, yeah...

Also, you can NEVER go wrong with some Foghat (my favorite song is Fool For The City, but I can't find a good Youtube example.)

I'm more into the old-school stuff.

Welcome to the world of Necromancy. Please leave your robe and wizard hat at the door.

Aside from that, here are some suggestions Spinwhiz.

Porcupine Tree %
Sigur Ros *
Godspeed You! Black Emperor *
Blackfield %
Pink Floyd *#
Opeth (I suggest Damnation as a start-point album) $
Clann Zu @
Explosions In The Sky *
Katatonia $
Nine Inch Nails @
Pain Of Salvation %$
Led Zeppelin (Great driving music too) #

Key:
* = post-rock
% = progressive rock
$ = progressive metal (don't fret, nothing too heavy)
# = general rock
@ = electronica
