I Need To Fix L4D1.

This is a plea for help, so I would like some answers from more experienced users who might have encountered this problem before.

Okay, let me start off:
I was really excited. I had just bought L4D1 off of Steam while they were doing their "Black Friday" thing. Having heard of all the mods that you can get for Source games, I quickly picked up the "Doku's Survival Mod", and enjoyed it briefly... before to my horror, I couldn't get rid of it. And thanks to my inexperience, I ended up not having any backup files... I'm hating myself more the minute, as I had uninstalled the game itself, then reinstalled it, but this does not work for some reason.
What should I do?

It... somehow survived the entire game being uninstalled.
Should I just delete the whole thing of L4D files manually?

uhh... thanks i guess, when u install any custom content into a source(well valve anyway) it goes into the username/left4dead or what ever game folder so deleting that for any of the game resets everything to its default and u lose anything u downloaded from a server, but thats not a problem with l4d a spose

What does the mod do? Can't you "uncheck" it from the addons menu?

See if the readme it came with has uninstallation instructions as well.
