OK!

So I am in the process of finalizing some details for my comic and every time I bring up 'possible titles' at the design meetings, my team responds with a resounding blank stare. I had originally planned for it to be 'West-Enders,' the town being 'West End.' However, one of them was quick to point out 'East-Enders,' a pre-existing show (I don't get out much, apparently, because I had no idea).

This has since been making life difficult in the name field. SO! A quick change of the town's name to 'West Gate' and here we are.

Essentially what we're working with here is a more in-depth kind of college spoof with a hint of supernatural nonsense. The point seems to be character development, so I was kind of aiming for a title that stressed that a bit. The college is called 'The Westgate University of Arts and Sciences.' And judging from the outline, finished comics and scripts we have so far, it will be ridiculous.

This is what's on the table:
Westies
West U
WUAS (sounds like a stupid radio station... >_>)
West Gate

I'm a little wary of taking new suggestions for the simple reason that later on one of you jerks could hit me up for copyright. But currently my ideas suck. So we could probably work something out, like credit on the about page, or something...

I'm not expecting too much enthusiasm here, but a little help would be nice.

EDIT: ***A new challenger has appeared... Astonishing Adventures at Westgate University... provided by my editor, who is way more inventive than I am, namewise. Thoughts?***

Well, out of the ones you have given there, I'd be inclined to go with West Gate.

West U sounds bland and Westies brings to mind a small, yappy dog of sorts... Seeing that it's about supernatural stuff, if there was some kind of supernatural portal that spooky stuff could come out of, it could be called the "West Gate" also.

Yeh, okay, that's kinda lame. but anyway....

It's definitely a good thing if your comic does not in anyway bring to mind Eastenders. :D

Me too. Trying to come up with something wittier, but West Gate doesn't sound bad at all.
This, West Gate seems like the most popular choice, and it has a bit of a ring to it

Well, West Gate is definitely the best option you have there.
Not that it sounds very intriguing... or anything much really.

West Gate looks to be the best out of the ones in the list-I dunno why, but the term "gate" has a touch of supernatural meaning to it-and an even subtler literary aspect. Gates are always present in the idyllic countryside cottage where an adventure begins or in the mist-cloaked hedge leading into the forbidden cemetery late at night or the portal built by the wizard to enter a fantastic new realm. It has a nice symbolic gesture as well, because college is often the gate from childhood innocence or teenage naivete into enlightened adulthood.

So, yeah. West Gate. Sounds good. :D

None of those titles appeal really.

The title of the comic just has to be quirk, interesting, and somehow relate to the content. See Scary-Go-Round, Penny Arcade, Instant Classic, etc.

I'd go with a title that has a supernatural slant, given your description. The whole "West" bit might have to take a backseat to a better title.

EDIT: What about School For Spooks.
