This turned into a Twilight board real fast.

...I tried reading Twilight. BUT when there was only the one book, y'know, back before all the rabid fans spawned. I swear, I tried to like it, I really did. But I couldn't even finish it. It felt like I was reading a published self-insert fanfiction and that just turned me off of it. And most of the fans play a part in that dislike for it as well, considering my best friend (and a frickin' feral fangirl) hit me in the back of the head with her copy of New Moon hard enough to knock me out when I said that Meyer's writing style was lacking.

OT: I never thought I would be able to keep a long-distance friendship standing for more than a month or two, but I guess I proved myself wrong. -shot-

I heard mixed things about Twilight when I decided to give it a shot and borrowed the first book from a friend.

I got around half-way in before I just couldnt read anymore. Its badly written, and almost nonsensical, her choices in storytelling and character development...

Free will is an entirely human concept which only has meaning within human culture, thus it cannot exist in the sense that we believe it does. Does this get me a cookie?

sure why not?

@traceur_:
I always won, you are just too stubborn to admit it. You are like Nick believing in God, you refuse to believe anything else even if those other things make just as much or more sense. I declare you a religious Atheist!!!

I'm actually going to read Twilight, admittedly just to be able to critize it but still.
You've just essentially told us all, "No-one else likes Twilight so I'm gonna follow the in-crowd and be a sheep".

I don't like Twilight either outside of the first book, but at least I have the guts to say I like the first book, in all honesty they're good, its the movies that are crap. You haven't read Twilight so your basing your opinions on baseless conjecture. Your just trying to be another little sheep following the popular belief of the "Cool Kids".

Do yourself a favour, get a life and get opinion of your own. Just because you don't have one yet doesn't give you the right to be peer pressure's *****.
Damn, I hate twilight with a passion but still, damn. Do really have to be a tool about it?

I'm not even going to comment on this... You just dug your own grave so painfully. So I'm going to leave you with what little dignity you have left.

Laters.
Didn't you just comment on what you said you wouldn't comment on? Isn't that kind of retarded?

Well my life seems pretty tame, mind you I think I've been doing something recently that I've been trying hard to steer clear of for quite some time now, that thing being fancying a girl.

Depends on what context the comment comes under, as in, I could waste my time as he did pointing out each individual fragment of text from the comment and create a massive fool of myself. Or I could just end it and leave him in his own poorly dug grave.
Hmm, If he doesn't know what he did wrong, How can he fix his mistakes? Isn't that how we learn?

OT: Admit that religion (minus God) has good points to offer us.
Convince my Anglican friend that free-will is a lie ... no nvm I expected that, I happen to be quite a convincing and logical arguer. (Don't try and say free-will does exist cause I have had this argument like 30 times and won all of them and I am too bored to win another one).
the only free-will we have is the will to convince ourselves we have free will
