He isn't though. He is just saying he passed his exams. I don't think that is being a kid. He did ask for good luck before so he just wanted to say how he did to the people who wished him luck.

Well done! I was the same as you a few months back, really worrying about my exams and what my results would be like, if I'd put enough revision into one subject and not enough in some other; but in the end, everything turned out okay, and that's the important thing.
