I propose an idea.

I was playing CoD:MW2 online today and I realized how much I hate Quarry. I don't really like Wasteland either. Then an idea struck me: Why can't you just ban maps you don't like for online games? You just select those maps you really hate and then you don't get into matches that take place on those maps. I realize that it would be really hard to do, but I'm only talking about those games you start out in. You know, the ones you start just after matchmaking starts. The ones you can't veto. Just an idea. What do you think?

I don't like it.

What if you're in a lobby where there's at least one person who has banned one particular map, resulting in all maps being banned. Then someone has to be kicked from the lobby.

So it's not fair. Veto is a superior system. Plus, I'm pretty sure you can see what map will be made available if you veto away the one you're currently on, so if you don't like that, just drop out of the lobby before it's too late.

This is a very RTSque quality that might work...
I mean, you'll have to pick the maps you want to exclude, be matched up with other people, play a game, then go back to the lobby and enter a new game. No continuous play.
That's not bad in theory, but with all of the bugs, glitches, and lack of compassion for the playerbase, I doubt that the beta that is Modern Warfare 2 will have any new updates for it.
And if it does they'll be horrendous disasters.
Remember what happened after the Stimulus package was released?

How about they just ban Derail altogether?
Agreed. Ban Derail, but keep Wasteland. I once got a 29 kill streak there, which I am proud of because it's about 27 kills more than I can usually manage...

Wasteland is full of little shits with thermal scopes. Grrr.

Ironically, my highest ever killstreak was on Crash.

I'm just talking about that first match that you join in half way through, you can't veto those. Also, don't put me into matches that are already going.

Agreed. Wasteland is designed horribly. It has so much empty space and everyone just gather at the mine anyway, it's just stupid. But Quarry holds my everlasting hate.

Now that makes much more sense. And I like it.

If they can figure out a system like it, I'll support it.

I believe dedicated servers would fix this, take out the maps that suck 24/7 servers anything you can imagine, of course I believe the idea was proposed to being with and Iw net threw their veto function at that, so I feel that are likely very endeared to that idea
