I really need advice about WEP sharing.

I just got a DSi, and when I had my Nintendo DS phat, I remembered I had to change my WEP settings to "shared" and when I did this, no wireless device (i.e. laptop, xbox, iPhone) could access the modem. Only the desktop and the DS.

Well, I got my DSi and the same problem happened. I consulted support.nintendo.com and they told me to set the settings to shared and such and a whole buncha other crap that didn't work.

So, I guess my questions are, Is WEP dangerous, and how do I set my laptop and Xbox to shared?

I can't answer your question, but I will say that the DSi (unlike the previous DS models) is compatible with WPA security, which is much more secure than WEP.

wep can be very insecure, it can be broken in about 30 mins if you want to get in

if you can use wpa it's better, i know the psp can do wpa
