Saturday morning I booted up my computer and my Windows Live One Care wouldn't start. The program said to restert my PC and if the problem comes up again go to the site for help. So I restart my PC and One Care still wont start. So I go to the site and I can't even get past step one cause my PC freezes the start menu now if I type anything in the search bar. And I can't uninstall the program to reinstall it cause pretty much the same thing happens again. So can anyone help me with this problem? Cause I really don't have the money to go to a repair shop.

I think its funny that a company releases an obviously flawed piece of equipment, and then they ship out a fix with it (which is extra, mind you) pretty much telling you that your computer is infected (and the program itself isn't very good)

I'm not familiar with Windows Live One Care, but do you have a restore point from before the problem started? That's a good place to start. If your computer won't stay working long enough to do that, start your PC with the Windows disc in, make sure your computer is set up to boot from CD, and do it that way. Or try starting your PC in safe mode, and uninstall it from there.

remove Windows Live One Care

But in all seriousness mash F8 once you get past your BIOS.
Once you get into the windows boot options, select Safe Mode
Once you're in Windows (running safe mode) you have a few options
1) restore your system (save this for last if you havn't set a restore point anytime soon)
2) Windows Live One Care should have some kind of repair option if you put the disk in
3) Reinstall Windows Live One Care (Although I sujest Avg for you anti-virus needs, Its free)

I'd be willing to bet $500 that it's not Windows Live One Cares fault, but instead, yours.

Step 1, ignore all the crap about using the restore point, because that can easily cause more problems then it can solve. This sounds like a very easy to fix issue and you'll probably learn something new because of it.

Step 2, Go into safe mode, disable the 5 billion programs you probably have running in the background. Reboot.
