I was wondering if it is possible to block people from adding you as a friend and to remove yourself from their friends list. I've seen this a lot in many other messengers and forums where people add others randomly just to get a larger friends list or to make it look like they actually have friends. So far this has happened here, where others add me for no reason other than that I'm a posting member of EM. I don't want to appear anti-social or anything it's just that I don't want others to gain anything at my expense. (my expense being my existence.)

People dont really get anything from adding friends, other than like 2 badges

Usually I add someone when they make a funny post or say something I really agree with

Just track down all their posts and say things that ticks them off. MSg them and tell them you won't stop till they remove you again.

Alternately, scissors are for violence and can be pretty convincing when held to the throat.

You don't have to add them, and you can remove people from your list.
(In other notes, I've managed to become my own friend.

Adding people is for chumps, the real skill is in getting added!

*Coughs at badge*

That said, there are certain things you can do to increase the amount of 'friends' you get:

1) Be loud, post often: If your posts are large, meaningful and enjoyable, you'll be smimming in messages from 'xXSumguy43Xx' in no time!
2) Be female: Double your friends list. Instantly. No exceptions.
3) Add people with an explanation: Whenever I friend someone I have never recieved a message from, I write a PM explaining why. Always means you get friended back.
4) Don't actually care about friends. I don't know why, but if you treat the friends tab like a cactus and not an orchard it tends to thrive. Paying it atttention only withers it.

On the other side: there is no actual way to deter such messages... resistance only makes them stronger...

This is how I roll.
I say something.
Someone agrees with me.
I add them.
I forget to talk with them.
Then they just sit in my friend's list, all lonely.
I only talk with Ajna right now, and we role-play together. He reminds me that I haven't responded in a day to the story, and then we are off.
So, give me a break. I just forget to talk with you.

I've added randomly, I've been added randomly. I don't think it makes much difference really.

And after reading the OP, I had a wierd urge to befriend, for some reason...

I tend to add people if they've been awesome in a thread, or if I keep on talking to them. I like to keep track of people who are neat.

There's no real way you can stop people friending you, unless you act like a tool, I guess.

lol, this is a funny predicament. So in essense, how do i get people to leave me alone? If i add someone randomly i usually send them a PM stating my excuse. I understand where you are coming from about not being a friend whore, but come on lighten up.
This. Its an online website, what does it matter if you have friends or not? Jeez, don't be such a hermit.

That's my reasoning most of the time, or I notice that they share a lot of common opinions on matters.
