Have you ever had these moments where you had a huge amount of trouble with a game to the point that you had to go get a friend to finish it for you, or had to go on forums to ask for help?

I'm currently going through one right now, NEW BLOODY LONDO. I've defeated Quelaag, Iron Golem, Orenistien and Smough and the Bell Gargoyles without any phantoms summoned(First ever playthrough, playing as a dex/endurance pure wanderer) and this place is making me pee fire from how much rage I've had with it. First I have to get the damned elevator from darkroot basin which takes half a year. Then I have to sprint through those blasted drakes who push me around with their wings. Then come the bastard darkwraiths whom I take care with quickly, but one mistake I'm stunlocked to death with their combo. THEY EVEN HIT WHATS BEHIND THEM with one attack. When I finally got to summoning witch whatsherface and getting her to not hit the usually unkillable ghosts(I know about the curse, she doesn't apparently) and drop into the abyss, I get slaughtered by the Four Kings. I kill one king and the other pops up 5 seconds later to knock me down with some magic and then kill me with his other homing spells. The witch is nearly useless because she's stunlocked by the king's attacks that extend from the north pole to the next galaxy.

Oh the thing with Four Kings is, no matter what run you're going for drop everything, put the heaviest armour and biggest sword you've got on, two hand it and HACK! HACK AWAY! NEVER BLOCK AND DRINK WHEN YOU CAN! If you can't kill one before the second comes you're screwed DX

OT: The way forward in Anor Londo where you have to climb a little piece of building between the main bridge and the Painted World building, I had to look it up because it was so out of the way.

The fucking flight school in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I usually play until I get to that point, then break out a downloaded save where someone else has beaten it and proceed from there. Why? Because it's tedious and frustrating and I'm too old to be spending my time playing games and not having fun.

What do you mean you are running through the Darkroot Basin (which I assume you mean Valley of Drakes)? Use the elevator at Firelink. It takes you right where you need to go.

Then come the bastard darkwraiths whom I take care with quickly, but one mistake I'm stunlocked to death with their combo.
If you get stunlocked, toggle the weapon in either your right or left hand. It gets you out of stunlock.

Also, there is a shortcut that only makes you run past 3 dark wraiths. If you enter New Londo from Firelink and cross the wooden plank bridge, run to the far right corner diagonal to you and jump off of the first area where the ghosts spawn. That gets you 80% of the way to Four Kings.

The trick to Four Kings is to do as much damage as quickly as possible. "Power Within" pyromancy would help, which raises your physical damage +40% but decreases your health at regular intervals like being poisoned would. Still, it can help you deal a lot of damage fast.

What level are you? I was about level 550 by that stadge of the game.

OT:

I only use help guides for picking out characters in Fire Emblem games.
...I'm level... 58-ish... Onto the catacombs then.

I've never played the Fire Emblem games, can someone explain to me the premise/gameplay of them?

Guy above me: What I mean from the darkroot basin is the shortcut with the elevator that puts me in the Valley of drakes, leading me to pass about 5 or so darkwraiths to enter the four kings. The problem is I lose focus and die at one of the darkwraiths, rage and rush to the elvator only to remember that I need to pull a lever and the mouse controls screw me into falling to my death.

Edit: The shortcut I'm speaking of leads me through the bridge(The second one with the 4 drakes) to the flood gates.

I'm not proud to admit it, but on my first play through of Ocarina of Time, I couldn't figure out the Water Temple for the life of me. I got so frustrated, that I finally brought the game into school and asked my friend to beat it for me.

LOL

Nah. Solo player for life.

I almost never requiere assistence, I just dont considerate it valid. Unless the game in question is specifically about Teamwork, like Left 4 dead. Then I dont really mind it.

Now, IF you are talking about forums and all... yes I did use them a few times but I dont really considerate them real assistence. You are still doing whatever the hell the challenge is by yourself. So unless it is a puzzle game, I think it is ok too.

EDIT: Thinking about it, now that I said Puzzle Games...

Ace attorney evidences. Fuck them, I rather go look what I am suppused to use in the interwebs lol. But only after thinking about it for quite a lot of time... I used it like 5 times or so thorught the whole trilogy. Not bad. Unless you count evidence spamming, then... yeah.

When I was 9 I was playing Donkey Kong 64 with my sister we kept getting stuck on that Puzzle Boss in the spooky world. My friend casually mentioned that he had beaten the game and we brought him over to beat the boss. After one try, he didn't do it and he said let's do something else. So disappointing for us because we were taking the game very seriously because we got stuck on most of the games we owned and spent a lots of time on the same points. I can't even remember if we beat that boss or if another friend did 3 years later.

And now, 10 years later, I'm stuck on original Donkey Kong. (You need to beat it in order to finish dk64)

When I'm playing as the Spy and some Pyro sets me on fire before I can get a backstab in...

Other than that, Four Kings on NG+ is hard when you play a backstabby Thief class, especially when they decide not to attack you one at a time.

That sequence still gives me nightmares. I was playing it on pc with a fucking keyboard and mouse too (before I get bitched at about how "superior" it is, steering with sticks has way more control than keys)
