Okay guys last night my dad's work sprung for a night out at Spookers. A horror house out in the countryside.

A little background reading. Spookers is located at an old Asylum. They used to boat the crazies in and they were surrounded by forests and rivers which was impossible to escape. No one ever did. The buldings even look creepy on the way in and I swear to god some people would piss their pants right then and there.

So we got out the car and walked in to wait in the bar. And guess who i saw. Freddy Kruger, the claw man. SO COOL. And then he proceeded to terroise a group of girls having a drink.

What else happened you asked. We went through the Compund. This is located in the nurses quarters and it is like those house of horror rides but with people touching you and the fear factor notched up by 10,000. Of course the costumes are very well done. They are made by Weta Workshop. The professional movie prop makers, who went all out. My favourite was the Army Sargent who had the most insane eyes you could ever see, all the while blood was squirting out of her cheek. FUCKED UP.

In my opinion the Compound could have been better. Maybe if Jason decided to fight Freddy, but I had to make do with the man in the jail cell. This man was stuck in a jail cell, obviously, and he was begging for us to get his key which was hanging on the wall, when we said we didn't want to he went totally crazy running up into the walls. And then he got out. He bent back the bar and ran out and tried to drag me back into his cell. I nearly became what spookers calls a peetalatie or a craptastrophie.

Now I had the choice of the 3d vortex or the Freaky Forest. I got voted out and we had to go into the vortex. This was the most disorienting experience I have ever faced. The best bit was the checked room filled with strobe lights and a box in the middle of the room. no prizes for guessing whats going to happen. Jigsaw, of Saw fame, Pops out holding a meat hook, chasing us out of the room.

What I had been told of the freaky forest was so awesome. Apparently theres people popping out of everywhere grabbing at you and the icing on the cake is CHUCKY holding a CHAINSAW slashing for your shins, chasing you through the forest.

In conclusion. Spookers is well worth the money $20 NZ. If anyone is coming over to New Zealand and you like horror movies you owe it to yourself to check it out.

It will make you crap your pants.
