i salute you for being average

im sure many of you guys here fall under the catagory of average allow me to explain

youre not a geek but you engage in some geeky activities, youre not a fitness freak either but you enjoy some sport, youre not ugly but youre not handsome, youre not buff, you are the C grade student with a comfortable salary, you drive dont drive a banger but you dont drive a sports car either.

i think being average is great and i salute you for being average because i too am an average guy

i suppose that an A-grade student probably is average because noone is allowed to do better than anyone else at school

It's just a question of whether I'm average or below average in the others. Depends on whether reality is 3.5ed or 4ed.

Average, or indeed, normal is an entirely subjective term. In fact my statement there is an entirely subjective term but hear me out.

To an opera singing cave spelunker your description might seem perfectly drab, to the D grade person working the midnight shift behind a counter who only knows work and sleep that might seem like an amazingly out there kind of lifestyle. To the average person one or the other might seem envious.

I've heard people say that we're all conformists and individuality is cut down but I don't buy that, there's an old saying my father use to quote alot and it goes "If everyone is exactly the same then heaven help my wife".

In fact I am a geek, and I'm more of an A student than a C student. I refute your assumption of my average-ness!

...Although the fitness, car, and salary were right.

EDIT: I guess that most people will average out overall, or at least approximate to it; that's what an average is. But screw that - I want to be a unique little snowflake! Wait, everyone uses the snowflake metaphor... I want to be a unique little fingerprint! (Eccentricity for the sake of being eccentric. Gotta love it!)
