Im a lurker but I decided to join to post some advice that helped me. Unfortunatly the link is not showing in google, but I found it under realistic skyrim hd mod on nexus, its an upload of the 1.1 files and when you past them in steam folder, steam doesnt re update for some reason...so i'm using that.

The problem however is that you cant use skse and therefore cant use skyrimui

If you have no patience and want an inferior experience, go ahead and grab a console copy. It's your call.

You'd be better off waiting for a while for a new patch and believe me in a few months Skyrim PC will be simply amazing! Patience, dude!

So, lemme get this straight. You're wishing you bought the game for a console (which, incidentally, costs more as well) because you can't use the mods atm (or use a particular combination of mods and what have you), which are unavailable on a console in the first place? Right...

how is it i never experiance these types of problems on my PC?

from what i have heard from my friends, the console versions are more buggy and harder to deal with when they do.

GW comprehending the post, I said it crashes constantly with or without mods so I might as well have bought it on console to avoid the crashes. Especially if i can't use the mods anyway.

I have little advice I can give you. You have the PC version, the joy of modding and yes kinda sad how Steam forces auto update.

You know I miss the times of modding then again. I put the game in the console and it tends to run. Pretty decent to [I accept the limitations and the once in a while save game stutter]

I did upgrade the HDD to a 7200 RPM 16Mbyte cache HDD [with more space obvious then the old hdd] in my PS3 and what can I say. Mmm it is slighty better now with the savegame stutter in Skyrim. But skyrim really really pushes the hardware. Showing that yes it might be time for a PS4!

I have skyrim on the ps3 and I have not noticed any bugs that have been highly negative, the worst i have gotten is just random funny glitches. I have heard very negative things about bugs but on all bethesda game I haven't really experienced them.
You obviously haven't played them a lot. Your game will die once it reaches the 10-12 mb savegame size, it's a mathematical certainty since the amount of triggers floods the system's memory over its capacity, because Bethesda did not give enough of a fuck to split the game's memory usage on the PS3 between Ram and Video ram. The game should have never been released on the PS3. What's even worse is that they are teasing people promising that it'll be fixed, which it won't, just like it didn't with FO3 GotY and NV, because it's not some small coding error that can be patched, it requires a singificant rewrite of the core engine, which they are certainly not gonna bother with after-launch. They already have your money after all.

what is your set up? I have my FPS cut in half every patch until I reset everything. The only way I know how to crash the game for certain is fast traveling as soon as you leave a building, I don't think the code can transfer memory fast enough.

Why the hell do people do this? No really, why did you type this? How did you think this added to the discussion?

Are you implying the OP must be lying because YOU haven't had any bugs so far? No?
Are you trying to rub it in the OP's face that you can play your game without bugs? No?

Then why?

I can't really speak to it as I haven't had any of the issues you describe but if you are really having so many have you considered just not updating?
I stayed on Skyrim 1.0 for quite some time before finally venturing into the updates.
And to further my annoyance Steam's 'do not automatically update this game' option does not work, and it auto updates anyway...
Fail reading comprehension is fail.
I didn't read his post, just the thread title and the first sentence or two.
That's even worse, why the hell would you comment on a thread you didn't even read? Dumb excuse is dumb.

I'm sorry, I fail to see where in your post you said you tried it without mods. Maybe this sentence - it is between 2 - 5 mins for a crash with any mods installed, - is missing an "out" at the end of that "with"?

In any case, you wouldn't have any more luck with the PS3, it's permanently fucked. Maybe an Xbox if you have one.

If your going to mess around with mods, be ready to re-install the game and start a new game every time there is a patch. You might not have to do that very often, but sometimes you will. This is true for any PC game.

I disagree with the general rush to install mods. There are these vocal people who like the feel good underdog narrative of a few amateur mod-makers out-doing the multi-million dollar corporate team. It's true in some cases, but if you look at how buggy these mods are it's kind of an ironic joke that people trash the vanilla game and talk about mods as some kind of salvation.

Console versions also have bugs, especially the PS3 version. The difference is, the PC version is easier to fix and for some fixes you don't need to wait for Bethesda, modders will fix it for you. As for your crashing, it sounds to me like it's your own fault for heavily modding your game. Modding is great, but it always carries an element of risk with it that people often seem to forget about and then act all suprised when something goes wrong...
This, this, all this.

Since the patch to 1.3, my Skyrim hasn't CTD once, except when I was doing something stupid. Please to not blame game for your own silliness.

I found that 1.2 broke things more - this latest patch (plus the official large-memory-map one) have improved things considerably. Doesn't mean some quests don't require console to finish...

I had it on PS3 but it got to the point where I had about 12 quests that I could not complete due to a bug, and I was unable to go anyware with more than one person due to lag. But Amazon gave me a full refund and I then got it on PC and I have had maybe three glitches. The first was a deer thats head had vanished into the ground, And the other two were the game closing in the loading screen after several hours of gameplay.

Actually I've played Oblivion, FA3, FNV and Skyrim. I got pretty much addicted to all of these games, all on the Ps3 logging over 100 hours each into each of them at least. So you theory on that must be mistaken as I said I haven't gotten these major bugs on my Ps3. Maybe I'm just special.
