So, when I went to go and purchase a copy of Halo 3 a couple days ago, I remembered that I hate Gamestop due to it's prices being corporate.

So instead of the 20 dollars I thought it would be for Limited Edition copy, I looked angrily at the used regular edition with a price of 35.

I paced around pissed for a little while, while my girlfriend tried to calm me down.

Eventually, I grabbed Mass Effect and another month of XBOX Live.

I actually started playing the game two days ago.

Since start, I've clocked in 23 hours of gameplay. 8/ I believe I'm addicted.....

Erm........is this natural? >.<;

EDIT : Anyone else think Mass Effect would make an amazing MMO?

Any particular reason you aren't with her right now?
She's asleep, at her house. She just got out from school.

Oh, GOD. The dialogue is amazing, BioWare did an incredible job.

Bethesda could learn a think or two.

That isn't a problem, I mean clocking an entire day playing the one game happens when its a good game.

Take The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I think I spent the best part of three to four days playing and replaying it when I first got it, same situation with A Link to the Past from the same franchise.

You'll finish it eventually.

I got addicted to it too, when i first started playing it. Not 24 hours straight addicted, but i still beat it within a week, doing most side quests. Since then ive beaten it twice more. Bioware is awesome at what they do. Also, i don't think it would make that great of an mmo, theres already choices when it comes to sci-fi mmos (anarchy online).

Yeah, the lack of capitalisation is disgusting nowadays :p
(sorry, but that was just crying out for Grammar-Naziing!)

And I had something very similar with Fallout 3 and the HL2 games: I just got immersed in them and couldn't stop: it goes eventually (although with HL2 it doesn't seem to have done :S)

yes, it is perfectly natural. back before my X-Box broke, I regularly did just that (23 hours, soetimes more, inside of two days) on Halo 2. Did it whenever I could, and one time I played Halo: Combat Evolved for over a solid day without stopping.

Oh, and, as a confirmation, yes, you are addicted. But it's okay, you'll burn out on it eventually and then you'll be able to move on with your life.
