I think my HDD died

one of my HDD,s stopped working fully it only recognizes one partition I already tried freezing it it,s a 1 TB samsung HdD I,m considering swapping it,s logic board.
PS
don't have a torx that fits the HDD screws who came up with the idea to use torx instead of Philips?

dammit forgot my question any way to recover the data by myself data recovery is 175 euro,s.

Depends on the damage. If it's physical, then you're screwed. If it's logical/software, there's a hope.
You may want to :
- Check how your your hard disc behaves on different computer.
- Download *.iso image with one of Linux distribution. Linux Mint is quite amiable. Burn it to the DVD disc,
start your computer with it, enter live mode, and try to access this supposed to be dead partition.
- Try some data recovery application. There are a feew good solutions. For example this one :

You may also want to try one of those specialist Linux based DVDs like this :

Attempt booting linux and mounting the drive. This has worked for me before and it's really easy to do with an ubuntu live cd, plenty of tutorials on the net.

thanks currently running testdisk it seems to be working but it looks like it,s stuck I think I,ll leave it running for the night I really hope this works.
PS
it worked! sadly it doesn't save the folders/file titles but at least I still have the files.
