I find that a apt comparison, but not really.. after all, Origin Is free But the simple fact is, is that at the end of the day, theres one reason i dont want Origin on my computer;RJ 17 said:I've heard a lot of people complaining about Origin. I know nothing about it seeing as how I'm a console gamer, so I really can't say if people are over-reacting due to it being Origin exclusive or not. This is why I don't mention the "I hate Origin" argument in my OP.Jimmybobjr said:Why all the hate... Hrm..
Why all the hate?
Origin. Origin is all the hate.
If it was origin free, i would buy it. But no.
Either i wait for a Console release (Gasp!) or not Buy it at all.
Edit: Best I can say is that in that case, you're not really hating against the game itself, you're hating against the system that you're forced to play it on. There were a lot of PS3 exclusive games that I've wanted to play over the years, but I didn't run out and buy a PS3 because quite simply I enjoy the XBox better. So if that's your reason not wanting to buy the game, fair enough I suppose.
I have steam.
Whether or not Origin steals my details, Whether or not it acts like spyware, whether or not it doesnt work most of the time, i simply dont want to have to Manage TWO gaming services at the same time. Thats two Friend Lists, two Social networks, two game updaters and installers, two of.. everything really. I just find it redundant.
If steam didnt exist, (Or rather, i didnt use steam at all) i would be happy to use origin. But at this point in time, i already use steam, and dont need another.
