With Left 4 Dead 2 having a level in my own hometown, Savannah, I thought about how awesome it would be to see my on home in the game.

So I have to ask, have you ever tried to search out your won home in a game?

Ever drive to your Algonquin (Manhatten) apartment in gta?
Every try to locate your Washington DC apartment in Fallout?

Chances are, it wouldn't be there, but imagine if open world games were really that accurate.

no I have not only because Florida is not popular in games, and yes it would be awsome.

If a game were set in my hometown it would be very shit >.> on the brightside you would have plenty of fields to fight in etc.

Man, if they made games with a setting anywhere near my house, they must really have had nothing left to go with. It's just the final straw.

It would be quite interesting to see how accurate some of the towns in Oregon are in the old Fallout games.

I doubt they'd make a game set in Vero Beach, Florida and if they did it would be the most unadventful game of all time.

The amount of any media set in Melbourne, Victoria is very small. I do not think there is one Melbourne based game. Prove me wrong, internet, prove me wrong.

No, but I do like it when they use real world environments, and keep it accurate, as when you see things in a game, and realise you've been there before, your (well, I was at least) all like:
"Holy crap I've totally been standing right there were *name* is standing! This games quality has increased as the immersion is so much more intense now!"
Well, not those exact words, but you get the picture
