I've read exactly 2,768 manga books. I counted. And I still love manga, I honestly do.
...
But I'm tired of all the shonen protagonists who want to be the best whatever in the world!
I'm tired of how many of them are morons!
I'm tired of how almost all yaoi seems to have been made by people who've never met any real gay men!
I'm tired of how so many jokes consist of somebody saying something stupid and someone else explaining why it's stupid! Don't explain the joke!
I'm tired of how manga characters never phrase things in a witty way!
I'm tired of how the manga crators keep drawing out the story and making it go on way longer than necessary, so that very few manga have a tightly-written story the way a novel or movie does.
I'm tired of how little josei (manga for women) is published in the west!

Asuka's a total ***** on purpose. She's supposed to be a neglected child lashing out, in contrast to Shinji who turned mopey. So, yeah, her personality doesn't change. And I agree she's the one character in the whole show who's just fucking infuriating.

The annoying thing about Evangelion is that the best character in the series, Kaoru Nagisa, only shows up for one episode. Don't look him up, because massive spoilers, but I fucking love Kaoru. If anything, the impact of his actions would've been more relevant had he shown up earlier and become more interwoven with the rest of the cast. Oh, well. Eva's got tons of problems to begin with.

OT: Assassins Creed 3, because I hate the mechanics. I want to know how Connors story ends, but that game plays like ass compared to the Ezio games and the buildings are ugly and uninteresting.

Also, Velvet Assassin, because that game has total bullshit checkpoints.

I want to get back to New Vegas so I can go though the DLCs, but I want to get through the game on Hardcore first, but I really don't want to go through the main quest missions to do so. -_-

I'd also like to get back to New Vegas, but I'll have all the crashes, ever, waiting for me.

I'd like to get back to League of Legends ARAM, but I'll have terrible team comps every other match waiting for me.

I don't get it.
Surely, you've been to the sulphuric hell holes of League of Legends? (Suka practically equals "*****" in Russian, and was the main form of communication last time I poked my head in)

Yes, playing New Vegas is a bit of a larger gamble than I bargained for... It's what happens in games with that many moving parts, but I'm still spending more time saving and begging for the engine to behave than I do getting chased by wasps.

You know what I'm talking about. You must. You're watching, or playing, or reading something, having a great time, shit is all good, but then... something happens. And this thing is enough to put you off entirely. The rest of whatever may be great, but this one thing... it does you in.

Myself, I've been trying to get through Neon Genesis Evangelion, and I'm doing well enough, but then comes episode 8 and this fucking character gets introduced.

And I hate everything about them.
Don't bother finishing dude. If you don;t already hate it now, wait till you see the movie. First anime I ever hated btw. Ohh, & the blue haired chick is a clone of Shinji's mom, so if you're shipping them, you can stop now.

& you think Asuka's bad, I dare you to put up with Tiara from Sister Princess.

Well, I've got this problem with a few things.

Psychonaughts: Sasha's spinning block level. F**k that level.

Sister Princess: All the girls have the same personality, & it's the kind I hate most; the sweet dainty useless helpless low-self-esteem needs-a-man acts-younger-than-she-is girly girls.

Galaxy Fraulein Yuna: Maybe it's because while watching it I suddenly became nauseous & threw up, but I can't bring myself to finish it.

Juubei-chan 2 & Bludgeoning Angel Dorukro 2 = Let's take everything that was good about the first series & throw it out the window so we can retweak personalities & cram in fanservice that wasn't in the previous season & will totally feel out of place.

Final Fantasy Unlimited: Everyone but the most annoying character dies in the last episode, all at once. I never should have finished it.

Meloncoly of Suzumiya Haruhi = I'm supposed to like crazy b**ches, but Haruhi is unbearable, & her female companions are just moe fodder, while the boys ooze with blandness.

Lucky*Star: I like Konata & the bad karaoke endings, but this is the most boring comedy I've ever seen. & the twins are annoying. There were some other characters, but they were so dull I can't even remember their faces.

Eiken: A male friend bet me $5 I couldn't sit through the whole thing. It was somehow less awful that Puni Puni Poemi, but I should have charged him $10 & quit half way through.

Well apparently you missed the bit where I said I like basically everything excluding Asuka. Also spoilers, and no I don't ship. So thanks, I guess. But not really.

I'd love to play Dark Souls again, but I'd have to face Kit-Kats and Oreos again.
I'm assuming that you mean Pikachu and Snorlax. In which case, grab Solaire, an Eagle Shield and possibly another player. Job's a good 'un.

OT: League of Legends. I'd love to get back into it, but the community is waiting for me. If the bots were more competent and the stigma of playing against AI removed, then I guess I could try that much.

I'd like to get back to Valkyria Chronicles, but I know that level in the desert is going to be a complete pain in the ass. The box stares at me, taunting...

I'd like to get back to SotC hard mode/time trials, but the one where you have to wait and hide underground is there. Fuck that colossus.

I'd like to finish Rage, but everything outside of the shooting is boring as shit. It's the first game that I wished was a linear corridor shooter because the guns are satisfying, the AI is neat, and the animations are badass.

I'd like to get back to my uncut Manhunt 2, but I've been squeamish these days. I hope this is temporary.

I'd like to finish my "Road to Resident Evil: Revelations" LP/documentary by starting Code Veronica, but I just bought Dark Arisen and Deadly Premonition Director's Cut on the same day. They are very fun and dominating my time. I think I have some coffee to read right now, actually.

I really want to re-play either KotOR I or II, but the first planet of I and the first two planets of II are just utterly boring.

I'd really like to give XCOM: Enemy Unknown another go, but the thought of re-starting again or continuing without my best three guys is way too much.

I would love to re-play the Mass Effect series, but I've played through the first planet of ME1 and quit so many times I know it'll just happen again.

Mount & Blade is another, but the hours of slumming it beating bandits on their heads with soft feathers before I can build up a decent army are just too daunting.

I'd like to re-play some of the movie tie-ins I loved when I was younger (Particularly some of the early Harry Potter ones), but I know I'd just realize they're shit and be terribly dissapointed.

I'd love to play through both Dragon Ages again to have a second save for Dragon Age III, but the thought of having to go through the Deep Roads and the single dungeon Dragon Age II had again makes me very, very sad.

I dunno if these next two count, but:

I'd love to play another The Old Republic storyline, but I just don't have the hard drive space for it.

I'd like to play Half-Life 2: Episode 3 or plain ol' Half-Life 3, but Valve and yaddiyaddiyadda, we've all heard this one before.

Pretty much anytime I hit the grind in a game or what seems like the grind. Every. Fucking. Time.

For instance, I love 100%ing games that allow you and keep track of your 100%ing. One of those games was Far Cry 3. I bought all the maps to all the collectables and when I went to go look at my map, I just stopped. I just couldn't handle it.

Also, in response to the OP's post on Asuka, if it is any consolation she does pretty much get mind-raped in one of the episodes, so theres that. I personally love Asuka for the way she acts, but thats a whole 'nother topic that I don't want to get into right now.

I'd really like to finish Uncharted 3, but I haven't played the game in over 6 months, and I was on the last level when I was forced to take a break from it. Now if I come back to it I'll be stuck trying to relearn the controls while fighting the fire demon fuckers who kill you in one hit. Really not looking forward to that.

I don't trust ARAM. I own like 30 champs, not counting free week heroes, and I still somehow end up with Udyr or Eve 3 of 5 ARAM games. And the other team always has Yi or Zilean.

For me, I want to finish the last 5 episodes of Battlestar Galactica to see how completely off the rails it went, but then I remember that pretty much every character I like is either dead or a cylon. Aside from Baltar, I hate every human character on that show.

I'd LOVE to get back to System Shock 2, but then I'll have an inevitable difficulty wall stopping me from progressing because I suck at inventory management/cannot make a good build.

Metal Gear Solid rising, got up to the Texan and he kicked my ass, had to re-fight him with no nano-repair pastes or restart the level. By the time I could be bothered another game came out.

I played all the way up to the finale of Bioshock Infinite on 1999 mode... and then stopped. I'd like to finish it, but that last level is a pain enough as it is... and on 1999 mode, you end up with about 4 volley guns and an RPG on BOTH sides of the stupid reactor thing. It's... ugh.

Well I was playing Borderlands 2 and enjoying myself but then I stopped so my friend could catch up to me and engage in jolly co-op. Then I stupidly walked into my local used electronic store and got Bayonetta and Armored Core 4 and Okami and a replacement for Federation vs Zeon. My friend is now far ahead of me in Borderlands.

I also should get back into Pokemon since I haven't beaten White 1 yet because life happened. When life stopped happening the new Fire Emblem came out and that's been eating my handheld time.

I was also rewatching Outlaw Star but now I have too many fucking games to play to finish watching it.

As has been said, most/all the characters are supposed to be hated. Now the fact that it's on purpose doesn't excuse anything, but it's at least a little comforting to know it's intentional. She does go through at least some character development, and when/if you watch End of Evangelion I think you'll either grow to like her a bit or be, um...satisfied with what happens to her, so you win either way.

That casual "I hate this thing, so I'm going to spoil it for you. There, I did you favor, be happy I spoiled it" kind of attitude ticks me off. On the other hand, when someone says something like "don't ship them because they're related/she's 14/she's actually a dude", it makes my heart sing and say, "I don't ship, but for you, I'll make an exception. Shinji x Rei 4lief". Except I already don't ship Shinji and Kaoru, so I can't say that.

Back on topic, I'd like to replay The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but I'll have the first half of the game waiting for me. Ordon Village, the Twilight Realm, the Forest Temple, more Twilight Realm, dumb Goron stuff, the Goron Mines, even more Twilight Realm, padding, the Lakebed Temple. And then after deciding I think I can handle the Lakebed Temple, I remember it involves swimming. Wait, does this game have any good parts, because suddenly I can't remember them.

CAPTCHA: face the music
Are you telling me I have to play Twilight Princess?
