Idea for a short-story

Hey escapists I need some help. I have to write a short story for my English class with the phrase "His word was law" somewhere in it but I can't think of anything to write about . I can write tonnes of stuff when I have an idea but my mind is completely void of any ideas when it comes to this. So I guess I'm asking for any ideas anybody here might have. Thanks in advance

Ehm... desperado, spaghetti Western? You could throw in a person whose nickname is Thirty Larry for shits 'n' giggles. Or a dystopian, futuristic society ruled by oligarchs (think Blade Runner or Matrix).

The fact that you can't come up with a single idea for building a story around such a powerful sentence makes your choice of avatar beyond delicious. (Don't worry, it's all in good fun.)

By the way, the religion motif alone should be good for a couple of ideas. How about going with a personal angle on Moses coming down the mountain with the Ten Commandments in hand?

For a slight twist: Ultima Ratio Regum! le Roi-Soleil and his artillery... that'd be kinda cool... and now I've just given myself another idea... so wanted to write something about Prinz Eugen von Savoy... *sigh*
