basically somewhere between fallout, dead rising, GTA and i am legend.

the game involves a protagonist who has survived a zombie virus and is amongst a small number of survivors left in the city. the city is freeroam and you can use anything that comes to hand as a weapon and combine items to create devastating weapons, this process should be intuative (eg take bottle to gas station, use rag on bottle etc) and there should be lots of possibilities. when freeroaming you can just go on a spree or collect supplies and new items. supplies can be used to gain health or stamina or used to build things.

when doing quest you will have to retrieve certain items, rescue a friend or even kill people who may be a liability you will learn new skills as you progress

im not a developer i just think this is a good idea

this is a bit like last stand 2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.211191-Ctrl-Tab-The-Last-Stand-2]
not exactly, but it may help you survive until a developer agrees to be interesting and original

This kinda makes me want to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (I'm not at all saying this idea is a ripoff of stalker but it still makes me want to play it.)

FPS mechanics like Modern Warfare 2, integrated into Resident Evil 1, 2 or 3 settings. I want to be able to accuratly shoot a zombie in the head and drop it with one bullet. They should also make it so that ammo is really scarce so you really get the sense that you're all alone in a world of terror. Not like Resident Evil: Dead Aim. That failed harder than a dead peasent starting a comedy club.

yeah basically my idea is mostly melee, you start with a lighter and a revolver with 6 rounds. im not saying it should be strictly melee but to get ammo it should be hard. you should also have the option to kill people and take thier stuff or use the advice and assistance

i can think of some cool locations. shopping mall (supplies and accesories, you can fight zombies without looking badass. DIY store (nuff said), scrapyard (nuff said), pharmacy (immunisation for fellow survivors and health),

First off, get BioWare to develop it.

I've had this great idea (well I think it's great) for a zombie apocalypse RPG. Depending on a character's class, skills and other variables they have a certain percentage of becoming infected by the zombies over prolonged damage and not treating serious wounds quickly. Once infected the player's character would mutate and develop abilities based on their highest attribute. For example, a character with high strength would turn into something along the lines of a Tank from L4D, while a character with high intelligence would gain telekinetic abilites. The longer this is left the stronger those abilities grow, but if left too long there'd be some consequence such as a resulting death of your entire party which results in your cure due to an antidote being injected at the last minute or just a simple Game Over screen.

im not really into development, i just like post my ideas hypothetically and maybe someone will like it make a game of it.

also your idea is abit strange, but quirky i can imagine a bit like vampire on oblivion. i like how the virus boosts your skill but you cant let it control you. i also like the class system but for my idea skill are not class based but things like electronics, craftsmanship etc.

also for my idea i think your character gets stubble and scars etc as you progress so it gives a greater sense you are trying to survive

Well, stats like Strength, Intelligence and whatnot could still apply to skills like electronics or craftsmanship.

Also, what I meant by "get BioWare to develop it" it was a suggestion of an idea because they know their RPGs.

So basicly, it is a mixture of Dead Frontier (a zombie MMO that should have more popularity bu now) and Dead Rising 2

yeah strength does more damage, intelligence allows you to create more weapons.

i thought bioware was software, anyway i doubt a big company would listen to someones idea they thought of when chatting with friends.

@zombiejoe, i doubt it would work as an MMO maybe co-op but the whole point would be to create that feeling of survival hence the open map it would be much more tense

there's a countryside version of this game coming out, its called Dead State.

I think so anyway, I may have gotten the wrong end of both sticks.

my own personal "make this and i will jizz with pleasure" is a sequel to freedom fighters, where, without turning into an rts, you do such things as choosing base location (sewers, forest, mountains, etc.) each with there own advantages and disadvantages (base move time, defensiveness, distance from occupied city).
from here you make strikes against different places in the city (barracks/airstrip/helipad/armoury) to raise awareness of your campaign. however, this means you may be struck at by the enemy. you have the choice to defend or move your base, with time depending on how many people youve recruited (scouts to inform you of enemy movements, people to help move the base). sort of a mix between defiance and defend missions from red faction guirella. but actually good
