Well, I've played through Fallout 3 about 4 times now, and the problem is I want to play it more, but everytime I do, I find myself putting it down a couple of hours later, because it feels so samey.

So, does anyone have any ideas about how to make a Fallout 3 playthrough more fun? Or just different from other times?

So far I've played through as a Melee expert, as an all rounder and as a Bug Guns/Explosive expert. Evil and Good on different files.

Other then that:
It's your game to play, to play how others say you should defeats the purpose.
Yeah, my all rounder was maxed on everything but unarmed.

The thing is, I've played all the ways I can think of playing, short of RPing, and I don't really do that.
Just wondering if there's some cool litle way to play that really changes the entire dynamic of the game.
Geuss I'll just have to wait for New Vegas :p

Here's what you do.
At the start make you intelligence 10.
The higher your intelligence the more points you can spend at each level up, therefore you can max your character (nearly)
You can completely max all SPECIAL and stats, my friend did it.

I think thats the layout for it.

Install the Wasteland Wanderers Edition [http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2761].

Changes the game to be much harder and you can play it more like an FPS, adds a load of new features, like making you need water and food to survive.

Read the link, it adds a hell of a lot, made the game much more interesting for me when I was bored of it.

If you're on PC, you could mod it to hell.

Ah, if I only could, sadly I'm on Xbox. My computer only just runs Age of Empires 2 :L

I dunno if this will help you or not, but one of my most enjoyable trips through the wasteland was my stealth character. I have the Operation Anchorage DLC and that makes a difference for this character.

First out of the vault I didn't even bother with anything in Megaton. I just went near there to find the hidden rock and used it as a storage bin for things I took from the vault. From there I went straight to the beginning of the Op:Anch quest and accepted it. The trek there was a little tough but nothing an experienced player should have issue with.

Getting the Chinese Stealth Suit this early on made every challenge new. Sure I had stealth options before, but it's abilities made the stealth a core part of how I handled each and every quest and it did change that characters experience for me. It's not radically different mind you. But rather small nuanced differences in how I approached things. And the Sneak shot bonus for firing from Stealth even made Deathclaws less menacing.

So that's one option. I hope that helps, or at least gives you an idea of where to go.
