Ideas for new Multiplayer Modes?

I'm rather bored of the bog standard multiplayer modes that games often feature. Deathmatch, CTF and territories are all well and good, but there's got to be more out there than just those.

I got the idea watching Total Biscuit's Sniper Elite V2 video.
The multiplayer at the start does not fit the game AT ALL, but it is included because hey, if you want your game to have longevity, then multiplayer is the obvious answer right?

But a team deathmatch just does not fit with the game at all. So I got thinking about a game type that would complement Sniper Elite V2 better.

Consider this: Each team is given a time limit to get the most points for sniping opposing NPCs, and then get a lot of points if they manage to tag an opposing player. That focuses the gameplay on getting the best shots faster than the other team, as well as trying to limit how many snipers the other team can fire by keeping them pinned down. To me at least, that sounds a lot more exciting than a bog standard deathmatch game type. It also fits the gameplay much better I feel.

So that was what got me onto this idea. Did you ever have an idea for a multiplayer gametype that better fit a certain title than what it shipped with?

Hmmm, what about this:
Call of Duty game.
You got several normal players and two "strategists". These guys will spectate the match from up above and are also the ones that can activate the killstreaks, such as dogs, helicopters, bombing runs, radar stuff and stuff like that (every team gets one strategist). They can choose where to spawn some of the killstreaks, like helicopter coming from the east or dogs just appearing out of one place or from several spots etc. Though they can't activate all of their killstreaks because the killstreaks cost points which the strategist can only receive if his teammates can get kills. The strategists are also limited by a "killstreak cap" which limits them from activating a bunch of killstreaks at once. The teammates can make the Killstreak Cap a bit higher for their team by capturing certain positions spread all over the map. However, the more points you got, the faster it goes for the enemies to capture you "Cap Locations".
After a couple of minutes in game the "End Game" starts. The players can no longer respawn, but the teams strategist can now revive them by using his points and the bodies will no longer despawn unless the owner is revived. There are several kinds of revival:
Revival: The person can now be revived by his teammates if one of his teammates walks up to him and holds some button for a second. This one is the cheapest one of the revival types.
Respawn: The person will now respawn in a safe location. This one has a medium cost.
Resurrection: The person will respawn at the very spot his body lies, which the strategist can use to his advantage by reviving teammates at the right moment to get a lot of kills. This revival method costs the most.

All the killstreaks will cost enough points that you will have to face a choice: Will you use all these points to try to get as many kills as possible, or will you take the safe route by not using that many killstreaks, and instead use airdrops that can help your teammates survive at the End Game.
