While I assume most of you like myself are waiting patiently for the release of Pokemon Black and White 2, it got me thinking if there would be a Gen 6 and what ideas for the new pokemon will there be, so fellow escapists, what would your idea be for a new pokemon. My favourite kind of pokemon are based off mythology(my favourite being ninetales) so I would like to see pokemon based off of the legend of Yamata no Orochi, the eight headed and eight tailed serpent, which would also include Susanoo and Amaterasu as pokemon as well, now that would be good

So, what ideas do you have?

There's a artist on deviant art with a whole selection of cool new ideas as well as new evolutions for existing Pokemon. I'd suggesting checking 'em out.

Here's a link to the artist page, if you want ideas for new pokemon just look through his Powermon and Fake evolutions folders.

A floating face with a top hat, mustache, and monocle.

Also the mustache has a top hat, mustache, and monocle.

I would buy the game if there was a Pokemon like this.

Those are great, Sage42.

Haven't actually played Gen 5... do they have a haunted sword Pokemon yet? Or some other kind of weapon? How about a parrot? A walking volcano?

A lot of the cuter ones like Hoothoot were invented just from a particular look of an animal, in that case a particular type of bird that stands on one foot habitually, making it look like they only have one leg.

Additionally, I remember back when Gold and Silver were announced there were persistent rumours of being able to fuse Pokemon through breeding or some other procedure to create new ones.

More evolutions.

There are some pokemon that are awesome, but deserve a bit of a boost.

Zangoose for instance. One of my favourites, but he just needs that little extra to be competative.

Bug types in particular. Many of them are incredibly weak and useless.

I dont think they have a Kangaroo kinda Pokemon yet, or a Koala, or a Panda.

Theres still lots of animals they can base Pokemon off.

Also some goddamn Dinosaur Pokemon would be cool as shit

As much as I may have loved Pokemon when it first came out, there comes a time when we have to acknowledge that some things have just gone on too long.

Maybe Pokemon should consider bringing an end to itself.

I think this would look cool if it was in the next game
Also I remember seeing this Deviantart of a Steel/ Poison that resemble a hedgehog but its hide was like a pin custion.

Honestly I'm waiting for the days they added these animals in Pokemon form-

Komodo Dragon
Rooster/ Hen (Rooster would be an Flying/ Fighting type while an Hen would be normal/ Flying type)
Mosquito
Hornet (yes there are bees and wasp in the game already but I mean one that look like a cool Hornet, preferable an Eletric/ Buy or flying type)
Koala
Fly
Fire ant (Durant doesn't count as in I want to see a fire base ant Pokemon that is Fire/ Bug type).
Dandy Long Legs
Dolphin
Velociraptor

Also I would love if they added a pre evolve or the next evolve form to Lapras

Although I definitely second more dinosaur Pokemon, like a stegosaurus or ankylosaurus.

I've always though that a platypus would make a good Pokemon, as it is already a mix of features from other animals, it would fit right in.

There's a lot of marine life I don't think they've used yet. Like the Pistol Shrimp (could be a Fire/Water type), the Hagfish (Poison/Water or Water/Ghost maybe), also maybe a Giant Squid Pokemon, I know we have Octillery but Cephlapods vary in shape and form quite a bit.

Totally forgot about Kangaskhan, although I never really considered Spinda to be a Panda like creature, it looked like more of a rabbit.

btw have they had any Scorpion like Pokemon?

I think Spinda is suppose to be based more on the red panda than the black and white ones. I don't think there are any Pokemon like the black/white pandas.

As for scorpions

What I meant to say was a rock Pokemon with an actual volcano for a head (Camerupt doesn't count). And being able to fuse any Pokemon that isn't of the same evolutionary line. Or if that's too much to expect, maybe only Pokemon with one type can fuse, since the resulting fusion will have both types.

Your first thought for "volcano Pokemon" wasn't Camerupt?

... the one called the "Eruption Pokemon"?

Just Saiyan. :D

Anyway, I'm not really original enough to think of any myself, they've pretty much done everything I can think of already. Pokemon has done pretty much everything and the kitchen sink at this point.

I would like this next idea to be the foundation of a future Gen:

Essentially, you start as an eccentric trainer (male or female) off to start your Pokemon journey in a boat. Then, a storm hits the boat and you and the captain become stranded in a nearby uncharted continent. You wake up to find yourself stranded on the shore and you make your way into the tall grass to find help when you are surrounded by a pack of wild Pokemon (with the appearance of a Greek mythological creature).

Suddenly, a girl (who later becomes your rival) appears to protect you from the Pokemon and asks you to help her out by selecting one of three starters. You select your starter and are introduced to battles by taking out one of the wild Pokemon. After your first battle, more wild Pokemon appear, so you and your rival team up to take out more of the Pokemon in a Double Battle. After the battle, the Pokemon flee and she introduces herself. You explain the situation and she offers to navigate you and the captain to a nearby settlement, engaging in Double Battles along the way.

When you get to the settlement, you learn that while the continent is completely cut off from the world, they have developed sophisticated technology while living in a primitive terrain. You then learn that earthquakes have be occurring lately and that this signals the revival of two legendary Pokemon (a giant T-Rex [Fire/Ground] and a giant Triceratops [Grass/Ground]), and later a third Water/Ground Plesiosaurus. The two share a fierce rivalry and should they clash, it will cause the continent's dormant volcano to become active again, wiping out all the residents of the continent.

So with your starter in hand, you explore the continent full of mythical and extinct creatures and challenge gym leaders in order to become stronger in hopes of being able to challenge the legendary Pokemon and prevent the destruction of the continent.

Take anything from the real world and add a type or two, give it a name that mildly represents what it's based on and it's type. Pokemon.

Those Pokemon were bad and they should feel bad.

I dunno, I think it was deviously hilarious that they've decided to only put one of that monstrosity in each game since it debuted.

I agree, though. I was mostly using it to punctuate a point. :D
