I've been depressed lately and I wanna know what you guys at the escapist do to get out of these kind of slumps. And it's just an overall depressed not specifically about something.

Well, I tend to listen to some strange things on Youtube.
It works. But I have to find the right thing for mental balance.
Friday is my mental-imbalance day.

didn't want to point the obvious but gaming. Also I like to read a lot. Read comics, watch a good movie, go to the park to play with my dog (actually she is probably the best to cheer me up when I am depressed), go to a bar with friends. Really there are many options.

I take 2 days.

Day 1: I forget all my troubles and relax, I enjoy the day the best I can, so I feel somewhat refreshed.

Day 2: The work begins, depending on why I'm depressed I try to think of ways to get myself together, most of the time I'm stressed which leads me to be depressed, so I write down things I have to do, give myself deadlines, then enjoy the rest of the day knowing that i can get through it.

Day 3: I start making my life better and reach my deadlines.

I learned this "technique" when I was about 15, the first, of many, times i've been depressed, along side positive thought and talking to my friends and family (as cleeshay(?) as that sounds) I get through each ordeal.

Relaxing while sitting in a comfy chair, playing games, doing research(I'm serious), or having my cat sit next to me because she always makes me feel happy.

Music. Music and an addictive computer game of some kind.
Or if no computer game is available, a book.
If no music is available, watch a humourous TV show.

Anyhooo i like to sit and play gutair for about 3 hours when im depressed.

OT: Mostly in situations where I am depressed I just go into the arms of my boyfriend and everything seems to solve itself. If he's not around at the time, I lurk the internet for lulz.
