I have firefox 9 beta and since Christmas day it has not loaded the escapist at all, I only get the background.

So guys is this happening to you? any workarounds? I am using Safari now to type this and I miss my add ons :( Thanks

No, its fine for me. Using adblock (get off my back, its disabled for this website) and noscript too.
Careful, I've seen people get suspended for even mentioning it's existence.
Guess advertisers don't appreciate it or something.

I haven't been able to view ANY of their videos since the latest version of Firefox launched.
A full reinstall and updating my codecs has done nothing to help it, neither has disabling my plugins (which shouldn't matter anyway, since it doesn't filter content).

Of course, I can't view anything that's hotlinked either (embedded videos or images in forum posts for example), or anything from Blip (youtube works fine as long as I view it directly on their site).

And I mean "can't view", I literally mean "can't view". I can click the blank space where the video player should be and LISTEN to the audio component just fine.

But that's the extent of which the new Firefox has messed up my Escapist experience. Yours sounds even more weird.

Disable your ad blocker. I and a friend have experienced this issue as well, and we both found the site loaded in perfect order once our ad blockers were disabled.

Which is why I never use browsers in beta. But I guess somebody has to.

I'm in Firefox 8.0 and it works fine.

It's a crying shame we can't view the web how we want to anymore.

I'm not mentioning anything, but I guess this is Escapists attempt at combating a certain addon. I mean, that's what it sounds like to me anyway.

(Mods I clicked on an advertisement after posting this comment just to appeal you guys so keep that wrath away from me)

It's working fine for me on Firefox 9.0.1. This site was very slow and unreliable in general in the period immediately after the redesign, maybe you've come across some lingering problems from that.

Firefox 9.0.1 with more than 20 addons.
Working, still there are lags and occasional problems with CSS styles - titles of articles disappear, fonts change to condensed Courier (i guess) and such.

No problems here on linux, and I always have problems, so it's probably an add-on incompatibility or your browser being reluctant to display such a large quantity of shiny white spaces. Try using non-beta software as well.

If you use adblock or noscript the pages wont load it seems (cunning plan there Kross), so try and disable that for escapistmagazine.com

If you use adblock then it won't load. I imagine it's deliberate on the Escapist end to keep us watching and looking at ads. I don't mind not talking about adblocker, or advocating it, but blocking it just makes me want to undisable it for this website and never come back.
