Are there any games that would have been really good if not for one major flaw that ruined the whole game for you?

Like for me it was the horrible robot mechanics of Lost Planet. I didn't want to play it if it was no fun playing as a robot.

how about you?

Fur fighters. Seemed like a great game but the control scheme just didn't work for a lefty like me.

Lego Star Wars: the main flaw in that game was that everything was made of lego.
Did the title not give anything away..?

The voice acting in almost every JRPG in recent memory.

If five with good voice acting can be named I will be surprised.

If only the cavalry AI in Medieval 2 worked properly...they took the chasing-down-routers effectiveness that light cav had in Rome and borked the AI so badly that the horsemen run around like Drunk Driving Demo Derby while the fleeing routers escape.

Fallout III should have been more like a free-roaming fps, instead of an rpg with too many stats to worry about.

Could you imagine playing Call of Duty with V.A.T.S. built into the game?

That would have messed up fallout 3 even worse than it already was. If you want a visceral shoot-em-up stick with cod, but fallout has always been an rpg.

This. It pissed me off to no end watching my enemies escape while my cavalry stopped, reformed, then dispersed. In Rome:TW and Medieval:TW I rarely had survivors. In Med2 that was broken.

In my opinion, the Halo 3 campaign would have been much better if it were not for the last 2 levels.

The last two levels seriously ruined my enjoyment. You end up fighting only the flood, which gets repetitive and boring after prolonged periods of time (especially on Legendary when they keep fucking killing you). In my opinion, the ninth level is one of the worst levels I've ever played in any game. It's just plain annoying.

The tenth level is a little bit better than the last one, but it suffer from most of the same problems. You're still fighting the flood (and only the flood), the Gravemind keeps interrupting your progress with stupid messages, and it's just more annoying than fun. Then you have a piss poor boss fight the results in 2 completely unnecessary deaths. The last car escape bit is fun, but it still pales in comparison to the one at the end of Halo:CE. I mean, the last level of Halo:CE had flood, Covenant, and Sentinels. The last level of Halo 3 has flood and a few sentinels.

Halo 3 could have been so much better if they hadn't rushed those last two levels....

... and an ending.
I think Force Unleashed would've been great if the combat wasn't so sluggish and if it was longer (yes, I am aware of the new DLC).

The last 2 resident evils. The stiff controls and old ass inventory systems for both of them just frustrated the hell out of me and turned possible buys into a rental for RE:4 and a short play at a friends house for RE:5.

You do realize that Fallout 1 and 2 were both top-down RPG's, right?
