Right, here's a bit of a philosophical question for you.

This derived from another thread of mine, in which I asked for the name of a particular song. Once it was answered, I decided to de-rail my own thread, and give it a new topic. After this, a completely different topic decided to pop up - if you derail your own thread, can you be punished for it?

As some of you may or may not know, thread derailing another persons (trollish) thread is looked down upon.

BUT does this count for your OWN threads? discuss!

Also, Vanguard Ex made me this brilliant picture...:

Hey, I was pondering on this question before!

I don't think you should be punished... I mean, it's your own thread. Then again, changing the subject of a thread and derailing it sounds different...

I don't honestly know. You are destroying the flow, but you made the damn thing. I guess the mods would just lock it anyway.

It sounds different but it is the same thing. A bit like ID and creationism.
You two are getting good at beating me...

OP: It's your thread, it's your baby. Do what you will (that sounded a bit creepy).
I may have won the battle, but the war isn't over!

Also, can you derail your own baby? And how would you do that? Suddenly claim that it's black when it's clearly a space alien?

Being the science geek type, I'm going to suggest that you take your philosophical question and use it to generate a full-blown experiment! OP- derail your own thread! Now! See what happens! Record it! Publish it! The world awaits the results!

Wel if it's your thread it's your thread. Just don't bump it to get the On Fire and 1000 Replies badge.

[sub]It'd be sweet to have them though[/sub]

Oh shit yeah. Does anybody remember that 'Are You Sexually Attractive?' thread I made? It kept coming back because I kept remembering about it and replying to someone on it.

And then it got shut down because some moron decided to post a picture of himself, naked save for a ping pong racket. That was weeeiiird.
Must... not... search... for... thread...

I think it would depend on how you derailed it. If the supplanting question has some discussion merit of it's own I would assume it to be fine. However if your replaced the OP with a poorly constructed post or start talking about an already discussed topic (like Twilight) then you may face a good whopping on the noggin.

It's up to the mods I guess to weigh the merits of what the intentions and the future of the thread could be.

Don't bother, they completely deleted the thread.

What happened after that was, more people started doing it. None were naked, but they were close. And all guys. Scrawny, scrawny guys.
That is to be expected with those "image" based threads. Some cock will always come on and take a picture with his shuttle hanging out and it is just not what this site needs.

Some stuff should be kept personal. Ask not!. Want not!.

Well if you do it maliciously.

For example, You could call the thread 'Do you like pie?' and then 10000 People could comment 'yes'

Then you could change the thread to 'Do you have a third nipple that resembles simon cowel on under your right knee?'

Some may take offence.
