If the founding fathers could see their country now, what would they think? (Not just US)

Are the founding fathers some kind of Godlike beings. It's strange how the Americans talk about them like they're the creators of everything.

But then Australia doesn't really have too much of a back story. Convicts gallor!
I think it's more because we tend to think of them as exceptional models of human beings, and they all have traits that we should strive to be like.

Australia needs little back story. It's like the twitch based first person shooter of countries.

Regret, pride, anger, love, hate. Basically, if the emotion exists, they would feel it. United States has come a long way, but has also fallen a long way.

All past figures find the future twisted.

When your 80 and topless is a wear-to-the-shops look youll think its wrong.

Your grandchildren will think your a convoluted old fool who used to post on the internet.

"The internet? Granpa, the Snorchlargb is the way of the future, also, stop looking at my topless chest."

Ok, so the internet will probably still be around and kicking, but what we expect of the future is wrong, because it's just a shiny today.

We don't need any more back story than we've got. They took the most fucked up people from England and dropped them here. That's an awesome history. Also explains a lot, as anyone from Australia would know.

I'm willing to invest at least $50 in anyone who invents the Snorchlargb.

Would they be proud, ashamed disillusioned, regretfull?

Post your opinion, keep it civil.
I don't really understand why people ( americans) make such a big deal out of them. They were just people, and even though what they did spawned usa as it is now... they were just people.

Technically, if they could see you know, they would have a severe future-shock. Or whatever the proper term for it is. Cmon, try showing videogames to someone who is 100 years old (in reality, it would more...) and who lived away from modern society for the last, say, 60 years.

I'm just amused that all the Founding Fathers would say the same thing. Hamilton and Jefferson had very contrary view points. They were responsible for the first political parties, after all.

I'm a Brit, so I don't really have anything accurate to say on the matter.

But I imagine their first thoughts would be along the lines of, "Hey, cool iPods."

George Washington was a traitor for starters, and he managed to cheat quite a lot.
Source?

Edit:The one thing I know for sure is that Ben Franklin would be pissed that prostitution is illegal in most states.

If Thomas Jefferson took one look at the Federal Reserve he would shit bricks. Can you imagine the irony of warning people your whole life against tyranny by financial institutions and then you end up on a coin?

Where'd the slaves go?
(YES, I know the history with the founding fathers on slavery, just thought it was funny.)

I think if your Founding Fathers could see America as it is, they'd probably just go into shock when they see an iPhone or any modern construction. Actually, I saw a pretty similar topic to this on Something Awful, it was good. http://www.somethingawful.com/d/news/cowboy-dandy-kid.php

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure they'd be staggered at how America has spread it's influence throughout the world and how it's not doing the best of it... Probably would overhaul some of the old laws like "A right to bare arms." since there's a well established police force and military and the general lack of highwaymen and what have you getting about ready to take out a city. People possessing weapons would just be arrested and prosecuted, corruption might take a nosedive as well.

*sigh* They put in the right so the common man could protect himself from said police force and military.

they'd probably ask me why i'm not working their field and i'd say something intelligent, causing them to shriek like rammed japanese schoolgirls and run for the hills.
