If you could change a game...

If you could change a game, what game would it be? How would you change it?

I would change Fable 2, and this is how I would change it:
First off I would set in the Future (not the games future todays future) It starts off the same as the first Fable game, Your father wakes you up from a day dream, Only this time, Your father is training you. You never know what he is training you for until later in the game. Then, you go off to rest. In the middle of the night, your sister wakes you up telling you that you have to get moving, because the earth is about to explode. Just to make the following your sister part fun you will be forced to get through a number of obstacles (land breaking apart, maybe a few Explosions, ETC.) When you get to the ships to get off earth you notice your father and mother is no where to be seen. Right when the space ship is about to leave you see your father and mother come running towards the ship. But sadly he is too late.

and the game works its way from their.

So now, give me your thoughts on how and what game you would change.

EDIT: again, I don't wanna hear "search bar" cause I tried to use it yesterday and it froze on me 4 times.

Go into every and any RPG and put in a game+ feature. That needs to become standard for any game where the character develops a series of skills and stats throughout the game.

Spore. I'd make it as complex as it was originaly intended, if not more. An actual "life simulator", rather than just five genres in one game.

I would get rid of the stupid fucking fuel system in Mercenaries 2. I mean seriously, why the fuck does a cruise missile cost more JET FUEL than a B2 stealth bomber delivering a fucking carpet-bombing run. Rockets use solid fuel thats pre-built into the rocket. FUCKING MORONS.

WHY DOES AN ARTILLERY BARRAGE USE FUCKING JET FUEL. WTF?

And i would make it actually possible to sneak around without getting noticed. With stealth gear, and enemy uniforms.

That way you could plant air strike smoke and beacons quickly, get in get out. And boom.

I gotta agree with you there. Sonic's power is so rigged in that.

I'd make the Ogre Battle series have a loot-and-treasure system that actually makes any sense for a gradually building RPG title (as in, not drop stuff toward the end of the game that would've been great 3 chapters ago...all the bloody time, among other things).

Also I'd put the WT-move system back into the most recent (TKoL) title, as it's a bit unfair when your whole team takes all of their turns at once, and you get to chose in what order everything happens, as opposed to some kind of system that intermixes the turns of all characters on the battlefield with respect to some kind of order-determining scale. I don't find much challenge in being able to kill half their team in any mission right on the first turn before any of them have had a chance to move...

While I'll admit I do very much love the Mega (though I bet a lot of people would whine there's no Zero/Proto, even if we got him) I'd have to go with:

OT: I'd also change Fable II, but instead of most of the game revolving around your job, family, the way you treat people, I'd make it solely about the combat, and having fun.

I was just having this conversation!

The storyline and cast for the PS2 release Okage: Shadow King could have made it a cult classic at least, if not for the HORRIBLE gameplay. The combat performs like a laundry-list of what not to do with a turn-based battle-system -- frequent time-wasting encounters, inept party members...etc etc. And the dungeons were the same ones cookie-cuttered all over the damn place, just longer each time. But the storyline and characters were so good, I just couldn't resist playing through!

To begin with, I'd take the combat and redo it a la Kingdom Hearts-style -- cooperative, non-boring gameplay with attacks that are fun to perform, nice and visceral, room for resourcefulness, etc. -- and give the dungeons some more dimension and imagination, like the plot and characters had in spades, working into the space Zelda and others have carved out for puzzle dungeons over the years.

Were this done, I assure you all would know the name Okage.

Deus Ex 2... i would have let players play as Paul or JC, not Alex-fucking-D... also i wouldn't have been a pussy and dumbed it down until it was nothing more then a generic shooter.

I enjoyed it... but not for any remarkable reasons... I have high hopes for Deus Ex 3
