Really I don't see that time travel is all that great. All I want is the ability to exist seperately from the time stream. So if I want to be able to interact with people I have to constantly move forward in the time stream in order to stay synchronized with the people I'm talking to. If I want to freeze time I just stop moving in the future direction and move only through three dimensions. If I want to reverse time I just walk in the Past direction. Of course existing seperate from the time stream I wouldn't be able to unkill myself or anything.

But if you made sure to always be moving forward at a much slower rate than everyone around you then it would be like everyone except you was stuck in bullettime. That way you would be able to avoid danger. If you ever see anything dangerous you just stop moving towards the time event when the danger would reach you and avoid it.

The only time travel I could see ever happening would be the ability to step out of the timestream and into your own little time bubble where time is passing at a much slower rate. Then you would step back into the timestream and while you were in the bubble thousands of years would have passed. Unfortunately as your pocket universe would have nothing anchoring it to the earth the earth wouldn't be where you left it and you would probably open up a portal into a vacuum. Or the time difference would be too great and you would never be able to open the portal and step out because time wouldn't pass at all inside the bubble.

That's why I always find it funny that time machines in science fiction always move you through time but not through space, so you are on the same place on earth. But since the earth and everything else in the universe is hurtling through space at unfathomable speeds it stands to reason that even if you only went a few moments through time in either direction that the earth wouldn't be there when you landed. And if your time machine can somehow calculate the exact position of your starting point on earth at any given moment in all of time why can't it move you a few feet to the left and be on the other side of that wall?
Looked a bit to far into time travel there lol
