Of all the choices available (and the 5 answers that jumped to mind all at once). I would have to say Nero from Devil May Cry. Sure he acts like a gruff, distant bad ass who doesn't care what anyone thinks about him, but once you figure out how to get by the defenses guys like that become insta-whipped.
My day while good, would be trying seeing as I have to figure out to worm my way into his affections.

As for how the relationship goes...well like all puppies Nero would be loyal as long as I treated him right.

Considering that I was ten when it came out and she'd have about six years of age on me (do the maths right and you might be considered not an idiot): Yuffie Kisaragi from Final Fantasy VII because she wasn't as shallow a character as the other two.

We'd go out on a whacky misadventure after I'd offer her a tranquilizer on the ship and we'd maybe/definitely steal everybody's materia. It would probably end with us getting found out and then I'd probably trip on something, dropping all of the swag into the ocean at which point we'd take the last lifeboat out of there. I would eventually make it up to her and wind up stuck in the perpetual void of being "just friends."
