If you could date any video game character

Amazingly, I've never seen this done before, so I thought I'd do it myself.

So, I think we've all at least thought at one point in our lives as gamers thought ourselves to be compatible with a videogame protagonist. Most of us at least had at least one video game crush before, so I ask you Escapist, what video game character would you date if you could and why?

Personally, I'd say Kairi from Kingdom Hearts mainly because she was my first VG crush or (some of you may flame me for this) Vannille in FFXIII. I just love her perky and overly optimistic personality. Plus I love Aussy accents.

Oh and no bullshit posts about how wrong it is to have a crush on fictional characters because you've all had one before

Thereare only three who I would consider, seriously. If they were real, obviously.

First up, Alice from American McGee's Alice. Reason? She's cute, but the psycho aspect also draws me in.

Next, Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2. I specify X-2 since she's 17 in that one, and so of age, whereas in X she's too young for me (only 15). Same in both though, and quirky and cute together .

Finally, and my favourite choice, April Ryan, of the Dreamfall series. She's exceptionally cute, and in the games she is literally like a female, game version, of me. Minus the whole 'being able to shift into other worlds' thing, of course.

Marina Liteyears from Mischief Makers, because I think the ability to shake valuable crystals out of people would be very useful during an economic recession.

Also, she's a robot with rocket boosters. What could possibly go wrong?

Well now that I've gotten my "first" in regards to Alyx Vance (Half Life 2) i can explain that it has more to do with a strong personality then the completely unrealistic bodily proportions that most video game women sport. Also, my second choice, Alex from Eternal Darkness. I'd just have to stay away from tubs in that house... (cookie for anyone who gets the reference there) I like a woman who can fight off cosmic horrors, it's a bit of a weird + for me

Ugh... I hate myself for answering this... but here goes:

There are a couple that I have found myself attached to. Most recently, it is probably the magic-using Dark Brotherhood member with short black hair that can be a follower for your character. I would go to incredible lengths to preserve her while traipsing around Cyrodiil.

Apart from her, I suppose I'd have to go with Rayne from Bloodrayne.

Dammit, beat to it by the OP. I like both Kairi and Vanille. But I'd rather date Vanille. Her personality is so childishly adorable. I love somebody that isn't afraid to be cute and silly.
