If you could do away with 1 gaming genre, what would it be?

I wouldn't do away with any. Sure, there's genres I hate, but what's the point in doing away with them?

I know this topic is just for fun, so I'll go ahead and rephrase it to "your least favorite genre", and for that I'll have to go with fighting games. Mostly because I really suck at them.

I see we wasted no time in getting to JRPG's.

There's no genre I can think of that I'd want to eliminate outright, but if made to choose I'd say sports games, and even then there's probably one or two things there I'd like.

Any and every rail gun shooter. EVER! I don't even know where this hate comes from but I can't stand not being able to move anywhere but where the game tells you to. I mean that you can choose you paths depending on certain things but not being able to go through whatever door you want really irks me.
Edit: Also and Madden games or football games. They are just pointless to me.

Any game whose target market is my mum. Wtf, games should be for gamers and not just to try and make more money by selling out. Yes this is mostly aimed towards wii games.

FPS. Oh please let FPS die, the good games have all gone and now we are left with shit franchises focused upon online play and full of bitchy toddlers.
And yet they are still more fun than every other genre of games.
In your opinion they are, in my mind however the good FPS games have gone.I'd take games like Bayonetta or Okami over COD or Halo anyday.
Besides theres only so many ways you can shoot someone you know.

Well maybe more creative ways are needed? More steampunk guns please!

Anything featuring tough, grizzled space/earth marines, possibly in powered armor, is banned outright.
EDIT: Oh yes, and those $20 shovelware Wii games that you see in Best Buy.

FPS's.

FPS's just because it'd be nice to see people try to use their imagination more then COD7012 and Halo4251
This, FPS's are all the same, walk around shoot stuff no character development no story (especially MW2) and online where a bunch of 12 year olds who play non-stop constantly knife you.

Fighting games and anything with the name Megaman, or Half Life in it.

Ugh.

...single player survival horror. Survival Horror. SURVIVAL HORROR! DIE DIE DIE DIE WOULD YOU?!

But honestly, I'm a sissy at nature. Doom 1 freaked me out when I was young, I felt sick after playing a bit through my brothers copy of RE4. The Ravenholm chapter of HL2 made me question my bladder integrety. I've never played the Persona or Silent Hill games, but just reading of them on Wikipedia gave me a sleepless night...

But, I've decided I want to actually finish a game like this. To actually face my fear, and develop at least a little bittle courage. So I reinstalled Doom3, which caught me off guard back when I first tried it. And now that I've given it another couple of hours, I can safely say:

...DIE YOU SCARY GAMES! STAY AWAY FROM ME! :(

None, as much as I dislike certain genres, I would never get rid of any of them. Why would I deprive another person of what they find fun? And these topics just degrade into "well I don't like this so therefore it sucks". Better to just ignore what ya don't like then to constantly berate it and enjoy what you do like.

Although if I could, licensed games would probably have the best chances of going because come on, licensed games suck pretty much 90% of the time.
