If you could erase a game/series of games from ever being made...

I would pick WOW simply because tens of millions of people are creating a nerd/gaming stigma of being anti-social lifeless unproductive people who play on the computer 10 hours a day. At least thats the stigma its been giving the media... and through them... non-gamers.
That is a stereotype.
And it existed a LOOOOOOOOOONG time before WoW. When you ask someone aged 40-50 what a computer nerd is, I highly doubt that WoW will be mentioned.

I would erase the Naruto games for the PS3 so then maybe they would put games on a better console.

The first game to have online achievements. Then any subsequent games that thought of the idea.

Japanese Porn Games. Any game that lead to, or is in that "genre". I know that sex is less of an issue in Japan, but that doesn't mean that "Battle Raper" isn't messed-up.

That is a stereotype.
I barely even spend 2 hours on it.
I don't know where all the hate came from, but it needs to stop because it divides the gaming community.
Sorry if it didn't come across that way, that was my point. There is a stereotype out there that is hurtful to the entire gaming community and it is offensive to all of us. If it was possible to educate everyone to this then i would gladly do that... but it seems to me the only way to get rid of this stereotype would be to delete the game from history.

I would say Spyro: A New Beginning because there would be a great game about a purple dragon.

And, hey, who wouldn't want that?

For experimental reasons? Final Fantasy.

For hatred reasons? Either Call of Duty series after CoD2, or World of Warcraft (not Warcraft itself though).
Ooh nice, forgot about WoW... Maybe we'd see some origniality in the current MMO's being released that way...

WOW and all other MORPG so that the world would have 10 million more productive members of society to add to the work force and billions of dollars would no longer be wasted developing such shit.

that means you are one of the more "normal" people that play it. I know like 20 people who do nothing but WOW

..Which would you choose, and why?

Personally, I'd pick Halo, (not because I dislike the games, they're all very good IMO) but to see how it would affect modern shooters, would regenerative 'shields' or the red screen effect still have been popular? Who knows.
I'm waiting for someone to say Halo, just to start a rage war.
But in all seriousness, Dragon Ball Z/GT games. Dragonball can stay.
I retract that statement, the guy above me said it perfectly. WoW needs to go and die in a ditch.

Ring Out. That game had no redeeming qualities, and its disappearance wouldn't affect anything except through the machinations of chaos theory.

Meanwhile, the stereotype of anti-social lifeless unproductive people who play on the computer 10 hours a day will remain with the game that actually deserves it, Everquest.

In other words, bullshit.

"Battle Raper" is messed up. Water Closet is messed up. Rapelay is messed up.

A Drug That Makes You Dream is not. Tsukihime is not. Kana: Little Sister is not.

I'll take Sturgeon's Law over complete destruction any day.

This decision has torn me as while i love Halo I hate the fanboys that it spawned so I just don't know probably Crysis or Far Cry to try and stop the Graphics over Gameplay mentality

Just to wonder how things would be different...

Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt - I wonder if some other company would've tried their hand in video games if Nintendo had never entered?

GTA3 - would there be a genre now called sanbox? would it be as popular?

Deadly Towers.

Only game I had as a young child. I actually beat it at 8. I wrote down maps of almost all of the rooms in the castle and finally beat it.

It is what made me a Masochist. Damn that game.

Either Rapelay, for reasons I need not explain, or, more likely, WoW, for its murderously antisocial effect on society at a global scale.
