The portal gun would be an awesome way to, for example, go long distances.
Just go on top of a sky scraper, make a portal to the moon, then another portal on the skyscraper's wall, and go to the moon.
That would be awesome.

My car would be the companion cube, or better yet I don't need one since I have the power of portals, and the cube would be the greatest ally ever and be able to crush bad guys.
