There are lots of threads asking what superpower would you want the most - so for curiosity sake, I'll ask - What ability would you want to gain that is already possible? Maybe to master a particular instrument? Know a language? To be really good at a sport? A university degree (not just the certificate but all the knowledge as well)? No flying or invisibility or anything like that, something real.

For me it would to be fluent in Afrikaans - I have my reasons ;) Second choice would be to have an awesome singing voice.

Well i'm planning on learning programming, so it would be handy if that knowledge was just zapped into my brain. Alternatively, i'd like have some kind of creative skill. I don't care if its musical or artistic or whatever, but it would be nice to be able to make something and be proud of the fact that its not a pile of crap.

The ability to upload any skill into my brain from a computer database and to know everything about it instantly.

Matrix anyone?

Merge my brain with computing substrate...I believe that this will be fairly possible within the next few decades.

Alternatively, a better memory than the current one I have, or maybe just more motivation.

A photographic memory.

That would have made university a hell of a lot easier.
Nooo! If I'm not the only one cheating by memorising the textbooks, then people may realise what's happening. Curse you Daystar for stealing my dream gift! May you forget where you put your keys.

If that's not an option, I'll go with a martial art. I'd like Aikido but pretty much any would work.

I've always wanted to learn Russian, German, Japanese, Mandarin and a few other languages but the only courses in high school were for French and Spanish and I find the romance languages to be boring. So the ability to speak other languages than English would be nice.

The ability to manufacture my own food. Then I might exercise more. Photosynthetically, I mean.

Be adept at math at a P.H.D level, but not super-adept because I'd still like to smoke weed and not win Nobel Prizes.

To be gifted with hyper-intelligence. To be more specific, to be able to learn many, many subjects and ideas extremely easily and quickly.

The ability to alter my perception of time in a manner that I believe the world is going by in slow motion, similar to what many police officers have reported experiencing in gunfights. Only, you know, I can do this whenever I want.

The ability to draw like a boss. Everyone says I'm good at drawing because the best they can do is stick figures...so their perspective is off.

Because I'm lame, I would say to be really, really good at parkour, not really to make money or anything like that, I would just love to show off.

Enough strength that 99% of people would not be able to stop me. Although, I'd rarely actually hurt people, I think, I'd just use it to intimidate people.

*at bank* I'm going to talk to the manager
Cashier; You have to make an appointment!
No, I don't.
Guard; You can't go back there.
And you'll stop me how? I'll be back in an hour tops.

Either that, or the ability to attract women. Something I lack COMPLETELY.

Eternal life.

Don't say it isn't realistic, those jellyfish have it.
To quote an awesome song, "Who wants to live forever?" To outlive everyone you love, to have no possible way to die, to outlive the end of the world as we know it? Not thanks! I mean, what if, for the sake of argument, a meteor struck the earth and caused you to get blown into space? You'd be hurtling through space forever with no hope of escape!

OT, I think I'd like superhuman hearing. It would make listening to music infinitely more pleasurable.

Probably a vastly superior intellect, it would make learning new things easy so I wouldn't even have to study or put any effort into classes, also it would probably make it so I could get some recognition in whatever field I went deeper into.
