If you could legally own any one non-fictional weapon, what would it be and why?

This is very hard for me, being someone who really likes weapons, military history, lives in England and has little money there is a whole fuck-tonne of weapons I want but can't have, either because they are illegal or expensive (or both) and I find it super hard to choose.

It would have to be a sturmgewehr 44, because it is the granddad of virtually all modern rifles, it was a huge leap forward in technology and almost all modern rifles from the M16 to the AK47 were designed based on the sturmgewehr. Also it is Incredibly rare and worth an absolute fortune, They have one at the royal armoury in Leeds with a barrel attachment for shooting accurately round corners that is literally the only one left and it's estimated value is few hundred thousand pounds so I would definitely have that one!

and I'm fairly sure its still in working order and I could shoot it

An AK-74, mainly because Canada banned them because "AK moar evil, bad scary gun", and because I can get a VZ.58 that fills the same role as the AK-47 but is lighter, more accurate and legal here.

A close second would be the PPSH-41, that's banned as well and I have dreams of acquiring every common Soviet small arm used in WW2.

Third choice would be an East German SKS. Extremely rare due to most of them being destroyed when Germany re-unified. German precision with Russian reliability. King of SKS rifles.

I really, really like the H&K G36. A very pretty looking weapon, and it is designed to be ambidextrous, so both right handed people and southpaws can wield it.

Odd as it is, I've never liked the idea of using a gun. I mean I imagine if I had a weapon in my hands the idea is to use it, and guns just seem to uncontrollable to me... I mean sure you can be accurate and place the shot but it's the bullet doing the damage not physically me.

I've always like the idea of wielding something blunt. Like a bo staff. It probably be useless in a world of guns, though.
