...What would it be? What genre, what would the plot be, main characters, antagonists, and so on and so forth.
Thoughts on my concept? Would be nice to hear your ideas fellow Escapists. =]
Personally, I would make an action RPG/Combo-Orientated Hack & Slash hybrid. It would be set in an alternate Steampunk Victorian setting. There would be two playable characters, one man and one woman, who are "romantically inclined" toward eachother. As the story proceeds you would alternate characters. They would both have very seperate, distinctive playstyles, the man favouring longswords, battle axes and revolvers, and the woman using dual stilettos or long knives and throwing knives. The man would be infected with some sort of man-made virus by the antagonist, causing him to mutate over the course of the game, giving him enhanced senses and strength. The woman would be small, lithe and quick, and have some bloodline traits making her different from other people, like, the great-great grand-daughter of a vampire for example, and she would have animalistic abilities. The plot would roughly be about trying to find a cure for the man's virus while trying to exact revenge on the antagonist. The gameplay would be like a mixture between Demon's Souls and Devil May Cry. You would be able to buy and upgrade weaponry and armor via in-game currency gained by defeating enemies, gaining certain end of level ranks, and finding stashes of it. You would gain Exp, by, again, completing levels to a certain standard, completing challenges, and defeating enemies. You would use Exp to, obviously, level up, buy abilities, buy new combos and moves and upgrade them, learn magic, and increase stats such as health, strength etc. All of the abilities would be dealt with via a skill tree, and it would take multiple playthroughs to max everything out, so you would need to choose to either be a jack of all trades, master of none, or specialise in one or two paths. The levels would be semi-freeroam, meaning there would be set objectives, and a different stage each level, but you would be able to explore freely.
