Gears is like Halo's little brother, very little brother. Gears never really changes anything when I can see some improvements. Besides a chainsaw gun and gritty graphics, Halo has everything Gears has and then some. Gears got stale for me after 2 was released. Halo is still entertaining to this day and each game is bigger and badder than the last, without taking good things out. Bungie also pays attention to their community. Epic were you listening? Probably not.

I'd go with Gears of War 3 hands down, I want to see the end of the trilogy.
Halo has changed a lot since the first, sure, but don't make false claims about Gears of War. Also, I wouldn't call it it's little brother either, it stands as a great game on its own and wasn't even inspired by Halo. The only true thing they have in common is they are 360 exclusive.
It changed a lot more then Halo has from one game to the next, Halo even copied their Horde mode basically. Being able to use an enemy as cover, using grenades as mines, chainsaw dueling so you have a chance sometimes instead of being chopped in half. These are just a few things, and they add a lot, more then just the odd weapon or adding the ability to duel weild.rockingnic said:

I've never understood that either really, but at least Gears has several characters to choose from, all who auto taunt and say funny stuff when you kill someone. My fav is Bairds when you get a headshot "So good I should charge admission!"SenorFuzzeh said:

I'd go with Gears, but I've always liked Gears games more than Halo games. We already know what's gonna happen in Halo Reach: covenant attack, spartans fight and lose, planet destroyed. In Gears 3 I honestly think the humans could lose. I also care more about the exuberant characters than faceless spartans. If there's a good forge-type mode Reach will be great for customization. The beta didn't blow me away for the multiplayer. For Gears 3's multiplayer, co-op, horde, and beast modes all work. For standard team vs team, since they just vastly improved Gears 2 with that last update, they should have no problem making 3 one of the best games coming up.
Halo reach. Quite simply, the campaign looks epic (and having not read the novels, the story of how reach goes from military planet to deadified planet is largely unspoiled for me) and whereas previous gears game's multiplayer left me feeling infuriated, I liked reach's beta, although it maybe didn't have as much of a "one more go" factor as halo 3.

For one thing, I love Halo. For another this game is just looking cooler and cooler every day and finally I've already pre-ordered the Legendary edition.
With all that circling around I know which one I'm picking.

GoW 3, without a doubt. I've only played GoW2 (completed it), but the new Halos seriously suck. So GoW3. And the trailer is 'mildly intriguing'.

I have never played any Gears of War or Halo game (except for a few online matches in ODST).
But if I have to choose I'll pick Gears of War 3, since that story hasn't concluded yet (I think) so at least there is some sence in releasing it.
Halo Reach just feels like Bungie are desperately trying to make Halo cool again.

Reach. Gears of War 3 is apparently going to have underwater levels. I've never encountered an underwater levels I've disliked more than rest of the game.
Okay, seriously. Reach kinda has the edge with Theater (and a massive 1000+ limit movies you can save, I've heard), Forge, Firefight, customization and armor abilities, but Gears 3 is kinda temping too between the end of Gears 2 and the double barrel shotgun. Thankfully, there's plenty of time between releases to save up, but I'm a bit more excited for Reach at the moment.
