Having never played the first and the only hype i got was a few friends, i don't know what i was expecting from it
In the end it didn't hold up to the RPGs i've played before it (and those load times >.< ugh)

I wasn't uber hyped about Fable 2 since I wasn't on board with the first. Like three months ago a friend and I rented it and gave it a whirl. I give it a resounding "meh". Granted, we didn't get super far into the story but I wasn't impressed with the mechanics or interactions with characters.

it wasnt the gameplay or the hype that ruined it for me. i like the first fable because of the like, mystic atmosphere. ya know, bows and arrows and the heroes guild. Fable 2 was just too much of a step torwards being a generic story.

I'm not going to lie. I adored Fable 2. But I didn't want to...

I ignored the hype-train for that game. I didn't except anything amazing, but what I got, I loved.

I had ZERO EXPECTATIONS for that game, and enjoyed it through its highs and lows.

What do you think of Fable 2, if you ignored the hype?
I try to make it my personal duty to ALWAYS ignore the hype and just go for the information about gameplay and story. So to put it simply, I pretty much gave up on thinking there would be anything good in Fable II when I realized I'd bought half the kingdom and was more interested in playing FF 3 on my DS while my 360 ran in the background letting my money slowly rise every 5 mins only checking it once or twice a day to buy more things and let the money keep raking itself in even faster.

I was spending so much time with the "economy" side of that game I'd entirely stopped PLAYING the actual GAME itself . . .

so yes, Fable II did disapoint me. Because it lured me into not playing it BY playing it. Also leaving the system on for a week so the money would rake itself into a giant swimming pool sized pile of gold coins bricked my 360. Permanently. I'm sorting a fix now but the warranty is out and Fable is still to blame.

that sucks, economy should never dominate a game! and btw you can actually still gain money from properties and shizz while your xbox is turned off :)

It's all right. Really wonky in some areas (dye system, story progression, others) but it's still a game I throw in once in a while. I'm a bit of a customization freak in games, and this is one that gives a lot of freedom.

It was honestly awful. It was buggy, the "freedom" was the ability to jump off very small and very rare hills. And you're alignment made almost no difference in the end except for a few nice/mean words from hammer. Don't get me wrong Fable 1 was one of my favorite games ever, but the sequel should never have been made.

Although the new combat system was nice...

The hype i had received was i really enjoyed the first one, and this one you got a dog in it... This one was waaay too easy though and i felt the whole moral choice and just you shopping in a town entirly effects its ecconomy kinda lame as it didnt really matter how little effort you put into it. I remember i was trying to be good then i accedently took one evil quest and my character went almost full evil...

Game was too short too... Basicly i just found it to be a letdown from the first one. And you got given waaay too much money in that game

I really enjoyed Fable 2, mind you it was my first fable game. Had some good moments but still could be better.

I didn't actually enjoy the first, tbh! But I liked the second, I wasn't driven by any of the hype because I didn't expect to enjoy it, I just borrowed my son's copy of the game, he later got me a copy of my own.

I looked at videos and such, and was excited for it. When I rented it, I still had fun with the combat, and I enjoyed the story and customization of your character. But I didn't like how they didn't have armor anymore, and no more bows (and that silly "jobs for money" concept). :[

I say Fable 1 was better, but I still enjoyed Fable 2 for what it was. The ending made me laugh, [[{MINOR SPOILER}]] but I was still kind of disappointed that I wasn't able to kill the main bad dude.
Ruined the whole game for me. Why would they remove the armor? It was cool as hell, all the different sets. That and the lack of any other heroes, and the plot. That was a great part of Fable, Heroes in Albion were renowned, and you were one of them, the Arena, The Guild, all that was fantastic.

I think I might rent Fable 2 out, I borrowed it off a friend a few months after release, and I'd heard from him and my brother that it was a huge let-down from Fable, I tried to resist that and like it, but I couldn't, it sucked.

i did not listen to any of the hype but since i loved the first one i had high demands for the 2nd game. The combat was fun and the story was good so i liked it quiet a lot. i did not reach all my high demands but it was still a great game

Well, I haven't even finished Fable 2 yet, even though the game is in my possession for over a year.

That means that:

A) it's a huge game.

or

B) it's just not immersive enough.

Fable 2 is one of the very few games in my entire gaming library which I haven't finished yet. So yes: it has disappointed.

Tried that for a while, but I figured out I was making less money with it off then with it on and figured "well since I make more money with it on . . . I'll just leave it on"

I enjoyed it, but I prefered Fable to it's sequel, I did get the Game of the Year Edition but the two downloadable contents it got, were shorter than themain story and added bugger all but vaniety things that I frankly did'nt care much for. In short it did disappoint.
