Throughout gaming history hero's have needed help whether it's from an ancient shaman mask, your squad commander or an highly advanced AI they don't usually do things alone. My question to you is if you could enlist the aid of a video game "gaurdian angel" which would it be?. I personally would either have the mask AKU AKU from the first crash bandicoot games or the super computer from portal even if she'd turn on me it'd be a hilarious ride.

I'd say Tatl, just because Navi is a bit more annoying and Majora's Mask is a much better game than Ocarina of Time. Dammit, Nintendo, get that up on Virtual Console.

Yes, I realise this post has very little to do with the thread topic.

Not a 'guide' as such. But I would have Dog.

He always turns up in the nick of time, plus who's going to pick a fight with you when you have a ten foot tall mechanical monster by your side.

Probably the... guide thing (the name illudes me) from Dead Space, where you throw something down and a blue line tells you where to go. Then I would know where I was going in life.

I'm a KOTOR fan, I would enlist the help of Bastila. She's hot, skilled in battle, and smart. The perfect companion.

I would choose Gordan Freeman, but since he is silent all the time I don't how much help he would be.

Me: Huh? Whats that Gordan?
Gordan: [arm flailing action to indicate that there is an enemy behind me]
Me: No Gordan this is no time for a pinata party we have a job to do and... WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT! ARGH UGHG BLAR.
Gordan: [foot steps in rapid succession going away]

I would definitely NOT choose that annoying fairy thing from Zelda. Why? I just said it, it's annoying!

Murray from the Rayman series, he'd give me a good laugh every once in a while, and he'd totally creep out my enemies. Two birds. One frog.

Actually, she's probably one of the worst possible party members in the game. Get Zaalbar for his incredible melee fighting strength and tanking ability, Jolee for his Force wizardry, and do whatever you want for yourself.

Also, who says Wookiees aren't hot? They aren't called "walking carpets" for nothing.

Lul, no one would start shit with me if I was the partner of a Super Mutant xD
Chances are, neither would you. Because you'd be dead.

Not if it was Fawks! He'll be your buddy!

On Topic: I'd want that paper clip from Microsoft Office! He's so handy.

My dog from fable 2. Seriously, I have never had a better companion in a video game before. He finds me treasure and stuff underground, he fights enemies for me, and he is loyal to the end. I could treat him like crap and he'd still follow me around and lovingly follow my commands. He's a lot more loyal than my wife, that's for sure.

Unfortunately my ideal companion doesn't come from a game but from my own imagination which I thought up during the FAQ You! thread. It'd be a wisecracking, previously human but now a small Cat until the end of the game/movie when I break the spell, female who I a) Don't have to feed lots of food as they're a cat, B) can fall for as they were once human and will be so again once my adventure ends and C) are wisecracking and therefore entertaining.

Gamewise though it'd have to be Fable 2's dog (also known as Mutley in my game). Eternally loyal, finds me treasure and Dig spots, does tricks, apparently lives forever and bites my enemy's face off. What's not to love?

I don't have a favourite, I would want either a goddess that talks to you from above or a goddess in human form, she'd have a slight superiority complex at the beginning but she'd begin to understand humans better by the end.

I'm surprised no one's said Cortana yet. If you didn't read the books I suppose it's possible to overlook her usefulness, but she definetly has my vote. Or, any other super-AI from the Halo universe like her.
