If you watch War of the Worlds (starring Tom Cruise) backwards, it still has nothing to do with War of the Worlds.
If you watch Terminator backwards, it's about a cyborg running away from some crazy people, reviving several women named Sarah Connor, and eventually finding his way back to the future.
A touching story worthy of an Oscar/whatever-award-people-like-to-give-to-movies.
OT: If you watch Bones backwards it is about a lady who destroys evidence pertaining to a murder, before dumping the body in a random location, but luckily, through the magic of random coincidence, a friend of the deceased always manages to find the hidden body and de-kill them.
If you watch Rocky Horror Picture Show backwards it isn't all that different (aliens come to earth, a couple is stranded, alone, near a castle, they go inside, they end up stranded again and the aliens go home).
