If you're in the UK I suggest getting yourself to Game/Gamestation ASAP

They're definitely circling the drain now, I was in today and almost all of their used games were a fiver and under; you can pick up the first two Resistance games for four quid!

On the downside, the reason I was in there in the first place was to pick up a copy of the Jak and Daxter HD collection but not a single store (including HMV) had it because they all dealt almost exclusively in second-hand games.

I'm starting to see the issue with second-hand game sales now...

Yeah I picked up a used copy of BF3 with a £5 voucher for PSN for £23. It's good for the customer but it sucks for GAME and Gamestation. I hope they can sort their financial troubles out. We need specialist stores.

Honestly ive not shopped in my local GAME store and actualy bought anything in ages, probably talking atleast 4 years, all the stuff i buy these days i get online via amazon or steam, largly because im a pc gamer and the last console i owned was the nintendo gamecube and ofcoure the stores dont stock pc titles anymore, atleast not like they used todo, as an example the last big pc release i bought in a shop was starcraft 2, at the time i managed to get it five pounds cheaper in pc world of all places, this is the other reason i've not shoped in GAME in a long time, internet prices are cheaper.

I feel bad for the staff, but the stores have been operating on a pretty shitty business model for the last decade or so so I can't really say I'm sorry to see them go; G-Force still run a pretty decent operation.

I am upset that Gameplay.co.uk recently merged with Gamestation, though, and presumably will go down with them. They practically supplied my entire N64 childhood!

I was gonna mention this. Went down to one today and the place was half empty! Got a Warhammer t-shirt for £3 just for the sake of it.

Yeah company dead and buried. Strangely enough, still offered me a reward card.

Thinkinh now, should have had it, could be useful to have a spare card knocking around for wedging doors...

Went into a Game store yesterday,
1st: I could hardly get in the door, no it wasn't busy but they had so many billboards in the doorway it was impossible to get in in a wheelchair.

2nd: I had to stop myself from sreaming as the sales assistance lied to my friend about the whole ME3/EA situation.

3rd: Where was the non pre-owned games? Seriously some gamers don't buy pre-owned but would still like to purchase a game.

So my guess is they're selling off the Fifa 2010s, Call of Duties and Wii/DS Shovelware they aint been able to sell at their full pre-owned price then?

I was in gamestation looking to use up my trade-in/reward cards, and they have indeed slashed prices on their pre-owned stock. And they're also REALLY struggling to get new stuff; they sold all 5 copies of Binary Domain that they had.

I already did. I bought three preowned (Advance Wars: Dark Conflict, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes and Jam with the Band) games under the 3 for 2 deal.
I did thought I was abit too hasty seeing how those games would of been more cheaper when they are under closing down deal. However when I went to the store again, the other set of DS preowned games were gone so I guess it was a good thing I did bought them straignt away.
Still I will visit the store one last time when they are under closing down.

Hmmmm, will have to have a look tomorrow, maybe I can pick up a couple of bargains. I have some points to use up on my card so I might as well use them while I still can.

Its a shame for the people who work there, no one deserves to lose their job for something that isn't their fault.

Went to my two local shops. Heard in other areas of great discounts. Seems to have not spread to my area yet :( The discounts were £2-£4 cheaper at best and were only for 360 and ps3 games. DS and psp were still at their original price.

Still, the sales may change in the next few days so i may have to pop back in at the weekend maybe.

Yeah me and my mates went down during dinner break and pretty much cherry picked the best we could find. They were classing it as the 'SPRING CLEAN' sale but we all knew what it really was.
It seems bad that its come to this, but I can't help feel like this is payback for GAME giving barely anything in trade-in worth terms the past couple of years. That and we picked up enough games to construct a small house and create a backlog of games to last months.

Best we found:
Brink, Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia and Warhammer Space Marine for £2
Lost Planet 2, Star Ocean, House of the Dead Overkill for £3
Newest King of Fighters Deluxe Edition for £5
Resistance 3 Special Edition for £7
and Paul's best find, Dark Void for 99p

There was loads on offer but I reckon if I go back tomorrow it'll just be a huge backstock of football and sports games from yesteryears for 45p.

The Game in Sauchiehall street has a literal wall of Fifa games, running all the way from 2002 on the PS2 right up to 2011 on PS3, all for 98p.

I'm going back down today to see if I can pick up any other bargains.

If they're still alive by the end of March and manage to stock something I'm going to walk in and use my points to buy Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations for free.
