I picked up Psychonauts as well recently, just to see what all the fuss was about. Well I can easily say that I'm having the exact opposite of your experience. I really like the feel of the platforming, I have 0 problems with the camara so far, I zipped through the instructor's level in no time. But it's not the platforming that's doing it for me, it's fun and I like it but nothing particulary special. It's the atmosphere, the levels, I love it all. I just finished the Milkman Conspiracy level, it's plain awesome (frustrating sometimes, but awesome). The disco level? Pure gold. Right now I'm doing some sort of side-quest to fix a schizofrenic, who is battling against Napoleon in his head (via a board game). It's an incredibly original game, I love the whole feel and the underlying gameplay works for me, albeit not being really special.
