too bad you dont have a PC, i was about to suggest either divinity original sin or legend of hearoes trails in the sky, both released fairly recently, both have gathered a significant following

Fire Emblem - GC / Wii / DS
Breath of Fire II - SNES / WiiU
Golden Sun - GBA / DS / WiiU

Just a few I've enjoyed and one I am getting (Golden Sun)
