The healer, the cleric, the support unit, or whatever terminology you want to call helping other players and keep them from splattering across the walls (I also sometimes go for a stealth or rogue-ish class). I generally use light weapons like daggers or handguns too, due to the fact that they make people feel humiliated after being downed by them. :p

Cowardly mage, here. Perfectly content to send my allies in to close-quarters combat while I cower behind a rock calling in the occasional magical nuke strike, bolt of lightning of fireball.

I usually end up going towards support classes such as medic/healers. Especially if it's hectic and you are right in the middle of it all keeping everyone alive it's quite fun.

Although I can pretty much play anywhere I'm needed so I guess I can also say "I'm always the guy who changes classes when 'X' is needed"

Same here.

In shooters I tend to use 'one shot one kill' weapons. Like sniper rifles or shotguns.
I tend to use one shot kill weapons, like rocket launchers :D

Yeah, but rocket launchers aren't always available :)
True, but when they are... :D
It really irritates me that the one I've got in Mass Effect 2 is a pseudo-homing one. No thank you, I'll just have my regular non-homing one, and run straight at crowds of people cowering behind cover and blast the fuck out of them. I love the sounds of people groaning into their headsets and frantically trying to reload pistols and shotguns as I charge them, their joy when they manage to survive the rockets, and how quickly that goes when they start teabagging me and realise I ALWAYS drop grenades as I die.

I'm a Monk/Mesmer in Guild Wars, 'nuff said.

For people that don't play the game, that's a total support role. And that's what I always enjoy playing, the classes or roles that don't involve leading the group, just keeping in the background while still being absolutely crucial.

Hence why I'm a bassist, as well.
Hats off to the real bassists, rather than the douchebags who just can't play guitar well.

Whatever plays out the weirdest or most intense. Scout for TF2, Alteration/Mysticism mage for TES, stuffs like that.

I'm always the skillful rogue.
I must have some sort of OCD, because I just can't stand to see chests and doors sitting there all locked up and stuff.
How dare people try to hide things from me by locking them up!
Hahaha I know exactly how you feel. It's the same with me, I must know(and take) what's in there. If that makes me a kleptomaniac, then so be it.

I prefer classes with the Steal option. So usually stealth/thief types.

Oblivion, I steal everything from everyone as often as possible.

If summoner is avaliable ill go summoner.
If not, i go Necromancer.

I like to control my own minions

Medic, usually cause in most games they have the best loadouts (like heavy machine guns or shotguns) and can not only help teammates but themselves too making them almost invincible. Except for when the enemy snipe, which just makes the shotguns all the more fun to use when you've zero'd their position and are now doing some pre-emptive tea bagging before blowing their head to oblivion.

Back in my Guild Wars days I was always doing a bit of everything but I started off playing the healer. It was fun and easy to a degree.

I picked up WoW last year and started off as a druid and went with the nuking bit of it. I did some healing and found out I really blew at it. But like Guild Wars I decided to pick up on every role but in all I still prefer the ranged DPS guy.

I prefer a supporting character, the kind of guy that would be screwed on his own but best when behind a teammate.
I do have the urge to play a more straightforward "kill everything in sight" character sometimes.

The smooth-talking rogue-thief guy who will woo your daughter with two fingers of one hand, and stab you in the back with the other, while emptying the contents of your chest with my feet.

If the classes are well balanced, then I'll play a mage.
I'm a mage in WoW, in DA:O and so on. Sometimes I go a mage/combat hybrid, if mages aren't balanced enough to stand up on their own, but I love all of that magic. As far as I know, I've never even rolled a healer or rogue for anything, and only use warrior type things occasionally.
